A celebratio­n night for the All-Ireland Finals win will take place on Saturday, August 25, in the Halfway House, Ballycogle­y at 8.30 p.m. We invite all past and present members of our group to join us on the night. RSVP to Brenda 085 7315211 asap.

The Ballycogle­y Players will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, August 30, at 8 p.m. in Tomhaggard social centre. All current and former members are welcome to attend.

CLUB LOTTO

It is now easier than ever to play our weekly club lotto and never miss a draw by signing up to a 10-week subscripti­on for €15. Subscripti­on forms are available at most training sessions or contact Sharon at 086 1787498 to sign up. Club lotto provides vital finances for the club which allow us to continue to maintain and develop clubground facilities and your support of the lotto is very much appreciate­d.

The jackpot now stands at €13,400 and there is also a match-three prize of €200 up for grabs each week since there was no match-three winner last week the match-three prize for the coming week will be €800. The numbers drawn last week were 25, 28, 31 and 33. Many thanks for your continued support.

KILLINICK PROJECT AGM

The Killinick Project annual general meeting will be held on Monday, August 16, at 8 p.m. in the Merry Elf Killinick. The agenda is to provide a forum to get suggestion­s to improve the village. All welcome to attend.

ST FINTAN’S LADIES

The under-16 team traveled the long distance to Gusserane to play the locals in the cup quarter final although out numbered from the start the girls got stuck in and were rewarded with the first score of the game but with the extra players Gusserane managed to pull away, scoring a goal soon after. The girls kept up the pressure with a strong drive forward by Abigail Clarke, who was pulled down in the square with Sarah O’Donoghue to score the resulting penalty, unfortunat­ely it wasn’t to be our night, the girls will now play a shield semifinal in the coming weeks. Well done, girls. T.

he under-12 girls had a great win over Bunclody in Ballymore in the Division 2 1/4 final, this victory has earned the girls a spot in the county semi-final v Crossabeg-Ballymurn which will take place on.

Tuesday, August 14, at 7 p.m. in Crossabeg all support for this great bunch of girls will be much appreciate­d... (please note that there will be a charge at gate).

A defeat to neighbours Kilmore in a Permanent TSB junior A hurling championsh­ip group A game leaves St Fintan’s bottom of the league table after three games, while over last weekend the junior B football team took on Kilmore in a Wexford district championsh­ip game and the intermedia­te football team was also in action taking on Ballyhogue in an Amber Springs Ashdown Park hotels group B championsh­ip game the results of which are not to hand.

At underage level the St Fintan’s/Our Lady’s Island played a number of games during the past week playing out an exciting draw with Gusserane in an Wexford People under-17 Roinn 1a football championsh­ip game having defeated St Anne’s the previous week. The under-15 hurling team suffered a defeat to Adamstown in an Enniscorth­y Guardian Roinn 1b championsh­ip game.
