SCOUTS

At an important meeting with Scout parents on Wednesday night we outlined Governance and Safeguarding changes/ issues which impact on Scout groups.

Kilmore scout youth membership has grown significantly over the past 2/3 years, with over 70 youth members. This has impacted on our adult to Child Ratios which have reduced. As we are a mixed group we must have male and female adult members. In the past year, two of our leaders retired and four have reduced their availability due to work commitments so we have a serious shortage of adult cover for weekly meetings and activities.

We are looking for volunteers from parents, former youth members over 18, general community to help out. All adults will be Garda vetted and Training provided so if you can volunteer full-time or part-time we need to hear from you. Please give us two hours a week for one year.

Meetings are resuming for all sections with current leaders covering shortfall in the short term. However, if we don’t get adequate number of adults to volunteer activities and programme will have to be curtailed.
