Fines of up to €250 for not having TV licences
FINES of €250 each were handed down in Wexford District Court for householders convicted in their absence of not having valid television licences. In each case Judge Gerard Haughton added an order requiring payment of €61.50 costs to An Post.
Those convicted were:
Sophie Geroge of 101 106 Hazelwood, Bridgetown; Amanda Sinnott of 21 St David’s Well, Bridgetown; Margaret Murphy of 3 Monastery Avenue, Taghmon; Katie Doyle of 82 St Brendan’s Estate, Rosslare Harbour; Steven Power of 28 Commodore Barry Park, Rosslare; Lorraine Holden of 29 Commodore Barry Park, Rosslare; Shauna Freeman of 35 Seabury, Rosslare; Jade Power of 14 Chestnut Grove, Glendale, Rosslare; Lyndsey Forde of 33 Heathfield, Wexford; Sharon Berry of 163 Cluain Dara, Clonard Road, Wexford; Brian Carol of 28 Beechville, Wexford; and Gavin Howard of 9 Windmill Heights, Block A, Wexford.
Lesser fines were imposed where the accused had taken out licences but not paid all the arrears:
Mary Anne Rossiter of 26 Monastery Avenue in Taghmon (fine €110); Raimona Barasnevociene of 59 Cromwellsfort Grove, Wexford (fine €100); Carly Whelan of 70 Cromwellsfort Grove, Wexford (fine €75); Paul Doyle of 79 Laurel Grove, Wexford (fine €75); Fiona Carroll of 24 Cois Mara, Rosslare (fine €75); Vicki Waters of 178 Cluain Dara, Clonard Road, Wexford (fine €75); and Lynda Marie Bergin of 93 The Grove, Wexford (fine €75). Again, orders to pay €61.50 costs came with the convictions.
