GLYNN PANTOMIME
It is intended to stage the pantomime Cinderella in Glynn hall in early January. Further auditions will take place in Glynn Hall on Thursday, September 27, at 8 p.m. All those interested in taking part are invited to attend. All proceeds from the pantomime will go towards Glynn NS Development Fund. We especially need some men to audition for the male parts – secondary School and older please. SPLIT THE POT GLYNN
The winner of this week’s splitthe-pot was Marion Morrissey. The jackpot was €235. Thanks to everybody for their support. Envelopes are available in Declan’s, Marty B’s, Mace (Killurin), Killeens, Selskar Pharmacy, Sherwood’s Pharmacy, County Council Offices, Maxol (Duracks), Crosstown and in the school.
WHIST
Whist begins on Wednesday, September 26, in Glynn Hall at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome and we are especially looking forward to welcoming new members.
SOCIAL DANCING
Learn to jive, waltz, Quickstep and many more. Social dancing classes have resumed in Glynn Hall on Monday, September 17, at 8 p.m.
Beginners and advanced – all welcome.
Also classes commenced on Tuesday, September 18, and will take place every Tuesday evening in the Horse and Hound Inn, Ballinboola at 8 p.m.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Glynn-Barntown Community Games are hosting a Fundraising table quiz to raise much needs funds to ensure the future and development of Community Games in Glynn-Barntown.
The table quiz will be held in Declan’s, The Sycamore House on Friday, October 19, at 9 p.m.
The support of the community would be greatly appreciated (with both spot prizes and on the with night with teams of 4).

Church gate collection: A big thank you is extended from St Patrick’s Special School for the generosity given at their recent church gate collection in Barntown. The total raised was €384.15.
School Mass: Mass for the beginning of the new school year in Barntown takes place tomorrow – Wednesday, September 26 – at 10 a.m.
Weekend Mass times: Saturday 7 p.m. in Barntown. Saturday 8 p.m. in Glynn. Sunday 9 a.m. and 11.15 a.m. in Barntown. Sunday 10 a.m. in Glynn.
Midweek Mass times: Tuesday and Thursday at 9.30 a.m. in Glynn. 12.15 p.m. in Knockeen.

Alter servers: Fr John our new parish priest, hopes to visit Glynn and Barntown schools over the coming weeks with a view to enlisting additional alter servers. Parents may wish to discuss this with younger family members who might have an interest in participating. It is a truly rewarding experience, spiritually, educationally and socially.
Readers and Eucharistic Ministers: The rota for readers is posted in the porches of both churches. We currently seek additional readers and Eucharistic Ministers for Barntown. Please include your name on the clipboard at the envelope stand should you wish to volunteer. Many thanks to all those who are currently involved.
CAMOGIE
Both our under-10 teams won their camogie finals last Saturday in Monamolin defeating Buffers Alley and Gorey rounding off a very successful year.
Hard luck to our under-16 canogie team who bowed out of championship at semi-final stage by just two points to Kilrush on Sunday.
We extend huge congratulations to club under-14s Ciara Butler, Robyn O’Connor and club and county mentor Tara O’Brien and the Wexford under-14 camogie team who won the ‘A’ all-Ireland recently.
Well done to the Presentation Wexford Senior camogie team who were playing the first round of the ‘A’ Leinster Championship on Thursday.
They beat St Mary’s New Ross 7-4 to 0-9. Glynn reps were Emma Sw, Emma Si, Emma D, Jess H, Alibeth, Cora and Niamh R, Niamh Cogley, Rachel Murphy and Becca Redmond as well as club and school mentor Ciarán.
COISTE NA NÓG
Our under-13 hurling team won the Rising Stars final on Sunday defeating St Martin’s 7-7 to 2-4. Our scores came from Liam Cooney 4-2 (0-1 free), Mark Walsh 1-2, James Walsh 1-0, Cillian Ferriter 1-0, Colin Carley 0-2, Rory Goff 0-1 (0-1 frees). Captain Evan Sweeney accepted the Rising Stars hurling shield from ‘96 star Larry O’Gorman on behalf of the team.
Following a strong performance our under-15 boys unfortunately exited the championship on Sunday last following a narrow loss at semi-final stage to Buffers Alley.
SENIOR GAA
Our Senior footballers were denied a semi-final place by St Martin’s at the weekend in Wexford Park and so championship 2018 has drawn to a close for them.
DEVELOPMENT DRAW
Our Development Draw sales will begin on Monday, October 1, in surrounding parishes. We’re delighted with the response from club volunteers but are still enlisting sellers. LADIES FOOTBALL
We are so proud of our under-14 girls. A great display of team work and the girls are crowned Div4 champions – so well deserved. Well done all and to Michael, Philip and Maria for all their hard work.
Our under-10s finished their season with a winning performance v Rathgarogue-Cushinstown in football.
CLUB LOTTO
Numbers drawn on Wednesday, September 19, were 1, 6, 28 and 31. No jackpot winner. Two match-three winners – Conor Wickham and Nigel Morrissey.

TRAD NIGHT
Our next Trad Night will be held in the clubhouse on Saturday, October 6, from 9 p.m. This is a really enjoyable evening where we celebrate our culture. Admission free. Refreshments complimentary.

BARNTOWN HERITAGE GROUP
Barntown Heritage Group have recently formed as a group which consists of a number of local volunteers. We are all about promoting and developing awareness of the huge depth of history within Barntown from famous events, historical structures and local people.
To achieve this we hope to work on a number of projects each year. At the moment we are working on resurrecting the Three Rocks Trail. This trail takes you through a historical journey of the famous three Rocks 1798 battle which was a huge part of the 1798 rebellion.
