COMMUNITY CENTRE FUNDRAISER

Piercestown Knockingall Community Centre (anchor tenants Piercestown Scout and Guide Groups) have lost six renters since 2017 which has resulted in loss of income annually.

Following recent Board Meetings the board are organising a’70’s Theme Tea Party (based on old American Tea Party style) with 70’s music and 70’s dress optional in the hall on Friday, September 28, from 8 p.m. till late.

Tables of 10 will be hosted by organisations and other individuals within our parish, two people will host a table and provide the ‘party faire’ for the night for their table. They will sell 10 tickets for their table. Parents, grandparents and all family members of all groups using the hall are asked to please support this major fundraising event to ensure sufficient funds available for coming year. There will be a raffle on the night.

Thank you for your support. Please come to the hall any Tuesday between 7.30 and 9 p.m. if you want to get a ticket. Thank you to all parish organisations who are arranging to host tables and sell 10 tickets per table.

ARA CLUB NEWS

A Shopping Day is planned for November 20, to the Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge and Kildare Village with evening meal at Talbot Hotel, Carlow on way home/morning tea or coffee Scones included; €50 to book please ring Ann at 087 6677411.

2019 annual Coach Trip – Piercestown-Murrintown ARA Club are heading to the wonderful four star Castlecourt Hotel, Westport town on August 26, 2019, for three nights DBB with two days tours included in price of €350 based on two sharing. Single Room Supp €15 pppnight. Achill Island Tour plus other areas of interest and beauty in the West included on day tours, more information later. €100 deposit secures your place and payments throughout year can be made to club. SCOUT GROUP

Reminder – Registration of €45 for each youth member is to be paid immediately which is sent to National Office of Scouting Ireland. €20 per month due also for September please. thank you for your co-operation.

BRIDGE LESSONS

Bridge lessons for beginners will begin on Tuesday, October 16, in Wexford bridge centre at 7.30 p.m. contact michael at 087 0622281.
