FUNDRAISIN­G CONCERT

KRH Tops Community Group will host a Cast Concert on Wednesday, October 10, in St Patrick’s Church, Rosslare Harbour at 7.30 p.m. in aid of Community Group and St Aidan’s Cemetery Fund. Cast members, adult and junior will perform with special guests, Fintan Cleary, George Lawlor, Emma Hore, Billy Brennan, Martina Keane, Tony Carty and Jimmy Kelly. BALLYCOGLE­Y PLAYERS

Some of our members performed comedy sketches at the recent Kathleen Browne Festival in Bridgetown. Well done to the organisers/committee for a great weekend of entertainm­ent. We are busy rehearsing for the oneact plays at the moment which will be staged in St Michael’s Hall from October 25 to October 28, be sure to mark it in your diary. Details of our full length festival play will be announced soon, watch this space.

ST PAUL’S AC

The first Open Cross Country of the season was Hosted by Taghmon AC ladt Sunday and we had eight young athletes competing. Congratula­tions and well done to all. Mini Girls: – sixth Clare Stafford under-eight girls: – first Lucy Stafford, fourth Ruth Stafford under-eight boys: Fifth Ronan Looney, seventh Tadgh Wright under-nine girls: – third Catherine O’Leary under-10 Grirls: – third Tosia Spiczak under-10 boys: – fourth Artem Kelly Saturday was the Kilmore AC 10km Road Race and Johnny Kelly and Yvonne Cloney competed. Congratula­tions and well done to all athletes. Training continues in the Field at Kilrane National School Mondays and Wednesdays.

SYMPATHY

The whole community were saddened to learn of the death of Deborah (Debbie) Boyce, Barryville, Rosslare Harbour, who passed away on September 9. Debbie (née Gordon) was a very kind and gentle lady. The much loved wife, mother and grandmothe­r had been in failing health for a short while. Debbie’s funeral Mass was celebrated in St Patrick’s Church by Fr Diarmuid Desmond and afterwards was laid to rest in St Aidan’s Cemetery, Kilrane.

Sincere sympathy is extended to her husband Brian, son Matthew, daughter Lydia, grandson Benjamin, son-in-law Matthew, sisters-in-law Mary and Bridgie, brothers-in-law John, Robin, George and Brent, nieces, nephews and extended family.

RACE NIGHT

St Mary’s GAA and camogie club are running their second race night in Culleton’s Pub Kilrane on October 6 at 9.30 p.m. (Please note date and time change) A good night is guaranteed – come along and have a flutter.
