McCauley’s launch new ‘click-and-collect’ app
LOCAL PHARMACY group Sam McCauley’s is embracing the digital world, having launched a new app that will offer a click-and-collect service for their customers.
The Sam McCauley Chemist app provides a direct link to a patient’s local branch, allowing them to upload their prescriptions to the system and order within a few quick clicks.
Once the prescription is ready for collection, the app will send a notification to the patient’s phone and it can be collected, with a showing of the original paper prescription (repeat prescriptions will be stored on file so the patient will not need the original, just a photograph of it on the app).
The app was launched at McCauley’s flagship store in Redmond Square on Tuesday last, by Geraldine Ramage, the Group Superintendent Pharmacist. Brand ambassador Triona McCarthy was also in attendance. The public event was promoted in local McCauley’s stores in the run-up to the event and many regular customers were invited to come along and see how the app might benefit them. A number of lucky customers, who entered a draw on the night, also picked up hampers when their tickets were drawn by Ms McCarthy.
She said: ‘The app will be especially beneficial for parents of young children or those caring for the elderly as they can, subject to valid consent, have the medication history for those they are caring for on their phone. It will also be extremely useful for attending emergency doctors or hospitals whilst away from home such as on their holidays. We believe this app will truly revolutionise medication management.’
The app will let patients view their prescription history and current medications, give details of nearby pharmacy branches, order new and repeat prescriptions, and offer advice on saving money on medication and how to manage medication.
