Our under-16 girls traveled to Curracloe in what was sure to be a challenging game and so it proved. The home team came away with all three points winning 2-0 after a physical encounter. Nothing on the day seem to go our way. Special mentions for Sophie Lynch and Ciara Martin, who both made their debuts for the All Blacks, to Eimear Fortune, Zoe Butler and Kaytlyn Boggan from the 14s squad who were invaluable. Kaytlyn deputised in goals and was our player of the game with a superb performance as Allie our regular keeper was unable to play. Keep the heads held high girls ye all battled hard and did us proud.
Well done to all nine girls who took part in the under-12 Division 2 match against Rosslare Rangers. It was a close match but the girls kept battling and fighting hard and in return they came away with their first win in the league. It’s was a great game of soccer to watch with some great passing of the ball working it up the field and gaining those scores. It was a great team performance with our goals coming from Saoirse Crosbie, Ava Newport and Tara Devereux. Thanks for the support on the sideline. Our under-nine girls began their football season away to Fasnet Rovers. Each girl came off the field with big smiles. Well done girls your are a credit to the club and thanks to all the parents for the support on the sidelines.
Fantastic game with our under-12s who were very unlucky to go down 1: 0 to a good Curracloe team. We couldn’t have asked any more from girls on the day. Well done and we now look forward to the next game.
ST FINTAN’S LADIES
The under-16 team played the Division 2 shield final in a very windy Rathangan, playing with the wind in the first half the girls got off to a nervous start but soon settled in and went in at the break leading by five points. In the second half Bannow-Ballymitty came out fighting and with the very strong wind assisting them in this half they were soon ahead, but as usual our girls never gave up and battled hard to the end, unfortunately it wasn’t to be, with the girls losing in the end by five points. Well done girls on another spirited performance.
