St Brigid’s club makes a visit to the Garda Station

- By BRENDAN KEANE

MEMBERS of St Brigid’s Club and Day Care Centre made the relatively short trip to Wexford Garda Station for an outing that saw them treated to a tour of the facility.

The members were greeted by senior officers in the station including Chief Superintendent Patrick McMenamin and Garda Joe Kelly.

Having welcomed them to the facility the Gardai then acted as guides while the visitors viewed the interior of the building.

Impressed by what they saw they complimented Chief Supt McMenamin on the building and they also expressed thanks for being given the opportunity to visit the station which is one of the finest in the country.

A spokesperson for St Brigid’s said the event was organised as one of the outings for the members and it was the first time that the majority of the visitors had been inside the new state-of-the-art building.

They were shown around the facility while also being told about the how policing business has been made easier since the force moved from its old building.

The visitors were also treated to some light refreshments while in the station and thoroughly enjoyed their visit.

The St Brigid’s centre is located close to where the old Garda Station was on Roche’s Road so it was good for the members to see first-hand where there their former near-neighbours had moved to.
