To achieve this we hope to work on a number of projects each year. At the moment we are working on resurrecting the Three Rocks Trail. This trail takes you through a historical journey of the famous three Rocks 1798 battle which was a huge part of the 1798 rebellion.

We will be adding information about our group’s plans and progress on the Barntown.ie website. We are always looking for anyone interested in getting involved and would be delighted to hear from you. Please send an email to barntown.ie@gmail.com or for more info contact Anne at 089 4316353.

SENIOR GAA

Our Junior Hurlers put in a gutsy performance to earn a draw in the Junior A County Final in Bellefield today against Kilmore. Following a spirited start in the first half with both teams exchanging scores and wides it was a kicked goal from captain JJ Doyle that put a small bit of daylight between the sides at the half time whistle and we left the pitch a goal up – 1-4 to 0-4.

The second half saw the continuation of score swapping before the opposition hit a purple patch, knocking over five unanswered points to take a one point lead. Again it was nip and tuck till the final whistle with centre forward Matt Doyle grabbing a late point to force a draw. Our scores came from Matt Doyle 0-6 (five frees), JJ Doyle (1-0), Aaron Kehoe (0-2), Jack Brazzill (0-2) and Rioghan Crosbie (0-1). Well done all-we look forward to the replay on Sunday, October 28, at 2.30 p.m. in Bellefield.
