Pres fundraising to send soccer team for coaching in Barcelona

- By ANNA HAYES

A TEAM of soccer players from the Presentation Secondary School will travel to the home of football during their midterm break in October 2019.

The girls will travel to Barcelona next year to play two matches and take part in two training sessions with Pro Licence Catalan FA coaches and they are currently hard at work to raise funds for their stay in city.

Prior to this year’s midterm break, the group held a table quiz in the school and welcomed special guests from the Wexford Youths ladies team.

Fresh from their league victory, local stars Rihanna Jarrett, Ciara Rossiter, and manager Tom Elmes brought along the league trophy and shield for the girls to have their picture taken with the silverware.

The school’s new JAKO kit was also unveiled with EMS Copiers generously sponsoring them.

The girls have started their season well with the first year team crowned Wexford County Futsal champions, and both the U15 and Senior sides qualifying for the Leinster Schools ‘A’ quarter-finals.
