Free IT course for farmers

-

FARMERS from across County Wexford are being encouraged to brush up on their computer literacy with a new, free course being offered by the Farm Family Committee along with Irish Rural Link.

Computer literacy is becoming ever more important in farming and Chairperson of the Farm Family Committee, Alice Doyle, says that it’s something that’s set to increase.

‘IT skills and basic digital skills are going to become very important in the near future,’ she said.

‘Everything is moving online and soon the Department will be looking for everything to be submitted online.’

This new course will run over five weeks in the libraries of the four main towns in the county.

Each class will last two hours and people are encouraged to bring other people from the household along to help.

Those interested in taking part are asked to contact Alice on 0868295172 or Marie Redmond of Irish Rural Link on 0876343468 before November 30.
