Prospective students’ chance to visit Presentation
THE PRESENTATION Secondary School is hosting an open evening for fifth and sixth class pupils on November 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Prospective students from primary schools around the county are invited to attend with parents/guardians and see the school first-hand.
Visitors will be given a tour of the school and also get to try their hand in some practical demonstrations in certain subject areas. Information on application procedures will be provided on the evening.
School principal William Ryan will address prospective students and parents/guardians in the school’s concert hall at 6.45 p.m.
Teacher, Joe Rolston, the Presentation’s new Primary School Liaison officer, said: ‘It is a great opportunity for future students and their parents/ guardians to see the school first-hand, to take in the wide range of facilities on the school campus, to meet teachers and students and to find out information on what the school offers academically, as well as finding out about the many extra-curricular activities that they can get involved in.’
He added that he would be visiting various feeder schools in the coming months but encouraged people to come along to the open evening as well.
The school recently celebrated its bicentenary and there are plans to further extend the campus, with the addition of a new wing consisting of a new science lab, prep room and two classrooms.
