North End on cloud nine

FAI Youth Cup

North End United cruised into the third round of the FAI Youth Cup when they overwhelme­d Curracloe United 9-0 on Saturday.

Leon Sinnott and Ciarán Carthy both bagged doubles, while Jamie Dawson, Niall Connolly, Rocko Stako, Gloudie Makiese and John Hore chipped in with a goal apiece.

Campile United also progressed to the next round after seeing off Wicklow side Avonmore 3-1. Jack Kehoe, Matt Foley and Cathal Mernagh hit the back of the net for the winners.

Youths Premier Division

Moyne Rangers put an end to Gorey Rangers’ winning run when they eked out a 2-1 victory over the north county side on Saturday.

Evan Foley got his name on the scoresheet for the Enniscorth­y side, with their other goal coming from an unlikely source, as goalkeeper Anthony Larkin found the net from a kick-out.

New Ross Celtic also picked up three points as they saw off Ferns 3-1. A.J. Redmond scored twice for the Barrowside­rs, with Jonas getting their other goal.

Youths Division 1

Kilmore leapfrogge­d Bridge Rovers at the top of Youths Division 1 when they edged out their rivals 2-1 on Saturday. Seán Carley and substitute Callum Bates got the goals for the winners.

Daire Rochford and Mick McGrath (two) hit the back of the net for Cloughbawn in their 3-3 draw with Gorey Celtic, while elsewhere Rosslare Rangers edged out Wexford Celtic 2-1.

Youths Division 2

Enniscorth­y United continued their fine form in Youths Division 2 as they overpowere­d Tombrack United 5-1 on Saturday.

Aidan Casey and Jamie Foley both netted doubles, while Oumair Rauf also got in on the act for the winners.

Louis Schwartz was the star of the show for Camolin Celtic, grabbing five goals as they chalked up a comprehens­ive 9-1 win over Glynn Barntown.

Alan Murphy (two), Michael Malcolmson and Brian Murphy got their other goals.

Youths Division 3

Leaders Fastnet Rovers got another three points on the board when they overcame Shelburne 4-2 on Saturday.

Darragh Furlong and Finn Bennett both netted doubles for the Rathangan outfit.

Corach Ramblers were much too good for Bree United, running out 5-0 winners with goals from Ryan Morris, John Crosbie (two), Aaron Hanley and Jack Donohue.

Adamstown chalked up their first win of the campaign as they saw off Wexford Celtic 4-0, with Stephen Dwyer, Craig Wall, Quentin Kehoe and Chris Mahon getting their goals.
