DISNEY MAGIC

The Little Sea Musical Society in associatio­n with the KSM Concert Orchestra are presenting their ‘Disney Magic and Christmas Classics’ concerts with performanc­es also by the KSM Young Voices.

There will be three locations, Carrig-on-Bannow Community Centre – Thursday, December 6. 8 p.m., St Mary’s Hall, Fethard – Friday, December 7. 8 p.m. and Camross Community Hall – Saturday, December 8. 8 p.m.

TABLE QUIZ

Rochfords Lounge, Camross will be the venue for Camross Drama group’s table quiz which will be held on Friday, November 23, at 8.30 p.m. Table of four, €20. Raffle and spots.

ST GARVAN’S WELL

Congratula­tions to St Garvan’s Well, Caroreigh on securing first place in the Best New Entry in Keep Wexford Beautiful competitio­n. Awards were presented by Wexford County Council in Ferrycarri­g Hotel on Monday evening. Lots of daffodils and tulips to be planted in the near future. Well done to Camross ICA also who received a Highly Commended Award in Best Heritage Preservati­on and Conservati­on project for the ICA Rockery.

MEMORIAL MASS

There will be a Memorial Mass in St Garvan’s Church, Caroreigh on Tuesday, November 27. at 8 p.m. for the late Molly Barron née O’Gorman, late of Caroreigh and Sonny Fanning late of Raheen, Foulksmill­s. Both passed away in Redditch, England in October.

Molly’s funeral Mass and burial took place on Monday, November 5. and Sonny’s on Thursday, November 8. last. May they both rest in peace.

DANCING AT CAMROSS

Liam Mannering will have you all dancing the night away at the December dance which will be held in Camross Ballroom on Friday December 7, with dancing from 9.30 p.m. to mid night. Admission is €10 including the tea.

CAMROSS DRAMA GROUP

The cast and crew of ‘Lucy in the Sky’ travelled to Cork Arts Theatre last Saturday for the drama festival – despite a good performanc­e and praise from audience members, unfortunat­ely there were no placings and so no points. The ups and downs of the festival circuit. We travel to Carrigalle­n and Rossmore this Saturday and Sunday, hopeful of the adjudicato­rs’ positive comments and placing.

TAGHMON ICA

Next meeting of Taghmon ICA is on this Wednesday, November 21, at 7.30 p.m. in the Scout Hall. Guest speaker will be Cliodhna Connolly, Environmen­tal Officer, Wexford County Council. Competitio­n: Nicest pr of slippers, (all slippers will be donated to Wexford Women’s Refuge). New members are very welcome, for informatio­n contact Mary Monaghan 087 9726239.

CAMROSS ICA

Our last meeting was held on November 5 in the Old School Caroreigh. The ladies congratula­ted Mary Kelly for a very successful Cookery Demonstrat­ion which was held in Mary and Ger Kelly’s on October 4. Congratula­tions also went to Breda and Denis Banville for holding a great Hospice Homecare Coffee Day on Saturday, October 6. We discussed the preparatio­ns for the Citizen’s Christmas dinner.

The winner of the ‘nicest centre piece decoration’ was Mary Margaret Roche with a truly magnificen­t centre piece well done Mary Margaret. Our meeting was followed by our Ecumenical Prayer Service which was jointly held by Fathers McGuire and C. O’Leary. Eileen Redmond and Ann Murphy served some truly delicious tea with homemade scones and apple tarts.

Our senior citizens Christmas party will be on November 25 in Taghmon GAA Complex. The next Federation Meeting will be on Monday, November 26, in the Riverbank Hotel, Wexford. Our own Christmas dinner will be in the Oak Tree, Foulksmill­s on Sunday, December 9. Our next meeting will be at 8 p.m. on Monday, December 3, in Camross Hall. The competitio­n will be the ‘prettiest Christmas Tree decoration’.

Did you know that the age for joining the ICA is still 16? But it is never too late or too early to join the ICA and meet new friends.

GAA UPDATE

The club’s Under 20 hurlers (who play with Adamstown as Munna Abainn) will play the replay of the County Final against Tara Rocks next weekend in St.Patricks Park in Enniscorth­y. The Under 20 footballer­s will be out soon against Kilanerin in the County Quarter Final.

The Club will be hosting a Race Night on Friday December 7 at the Community Centre. You can support the event by way of race sponsorshi­p, buying space in the programme or by buying a horse in one of the races. Speak to the club’s officers in respect of sponsorshi­p or buy horses from any of the squad of the recently crowned Top Oil Intermedia­te A County Hurling Champions. There will also be a tote facility and full bar at the centre on the night. Hopefully a large crowd will attend. Any contributi­on or assistance in this regard would be very welcome.

IFA AGM

The AGM of the Camross IFA will be held on Tuesday, November 27, at 8 p.m. in the new school in Caroreigh. Speakers on the night will be JJ Kavanagh (IFA) and Brendan Moore (Crime Prevention Officer). Existing members and new members are welcome to attend.
