PUBLIC MEETING

The Rosslare Developmen­t Associatio­n is hosting a public meeting at 7.30 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Rosslare Community Centre. Gerry Forde from Wexford County Council will make a further presentati­on on the coastal erosion and flood prevention project presently being considered. councillor Ger Carthy will also be in attendance.

This is a great opportunit­y to voice your opinion as a resident or visitor of Rosslare on this subject or any other subject which may be of concern to you. There will also be discussion­s on traffic congestion, making safe the bridges and possibly introducin­g a one-way traffic system.

POLAR PLUNGE

The annual Rosslare Polar Plunge is back again this year on Saturday, December 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rosslare Strand beach.

Take the challenge and jump, run or tip toe your way in to the icy waters for a worthy cause. By taking the plunge you will be helping raise money and support the athletes of Special Olympics Ireland in the Leinster region. The Polar Plunge is also a great way to re-invigorate your and kick of your Christmas season as we have plenty of festive cheer at our plunge locations.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

The annual Christmas Craft Fair will be held on Sunday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Scoil Mhuire Rosslare. If you would like a stall to sell your crafts please contact Georgina in the school office at 053 9132501 ASAP Stalls €1.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Our Club lotto was not won on the November 13. Numbers were 2, 15, 22 and 27. Only one match three – Johnny Walsh, who wins €150. Lotto jackpot is €19,700 for November 20. Tickets can be bought from club members, shops, pubs etc.

Our Strictly Club Dancing is taking place on November 24 at 8 p.m. in Coast Hotel Rosslare Strand. Our couples are training very hard chairman Conor Roche and wife Andrea, Chris and Denise Heyns, Philip and Jenny Balfe, Gordon and Penny Kavanagh and Dave Corcoran and Nicola-Jane Mullan. Our Nursery for four to six years girls and boys continues every Saturday at 10 a.m. in the clubhouse till December 1. All children are welcome and it’s free?

Our under-14 and under-16 are playing Hurling in the Martin Storey and George O’Connors competitio­ns. They play on a Sunday and both will be playing in the semi-finals on the November 25 so please come along and support.

Our AGM is on Sunday, November 25, at 3 p.m. in our complex in Tagoat. We would like for all parents of underage players, adult players, members and the wider community to attend. St Mary’s GAA is the communitie­s club and we need your help in the running of the club. If you could join us to help in any little way it would be of great help.

CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS

Our club AGM is on Sunday, November 25, at midday in the club house in Tagoat. We ask at least one parent from each family try to attend the meeting.

Our winter training will kick off on Sunday the 25th at the clubhouse at 11 a.m. This is open to all girls from under-10 up. It has been a great success for the last few year and has help the girls concentrat­e on perfecting their skill over the winter months. We encourage all girls to attend as many sessions as possible.

Tidy Towns is part of a Nationwide group of volunteers, who enjoy keeping their Villages and Towns looking their best. We welcome New Members; Please feel free to join. Contact Margaret at 086 1257487.
