GAA DINNER DANCE

The Shelmalier GAA Club in associatio­n with St Ibar’s camogie club and the Shelmalier Ladies’ Gaelic Football Club will host a dinner dance and presentati­on night on Saturday, December 1, at 7.30 p.m. in Hotel Curracloe. A four course meal will be served. Tickets are priced at €25 and available from the Porterhous­e, Castlebrid­ge; Hotel Curracloe and any committee member.

1910 REMEMBRANC­E MASS

The annual Mass in honour of the Shelmalier all-Ireland winning team of 1910 and in remembranc­e of all deceased members will be celebrated at 10.30 a.m. in Castlebrid­ge church on Sunday, November 25, annual general meeting.

Shelmalier GAA Club will hold their annual general meeting on Friday, November 30, at Hollymount complex. Refreshmen­ts will be served at 7.30 p.m.

COISTE NA NÓG

The annual general meeting of Shelmalier Coiste na nÓg will take place on Tuesday, December 4, in Hollymount at 7.30 p.m. Thanks to all who make hurling 365 possible in Castlebrid­ge national school. Large numbers of children are participat­ing. Good luck to the under-14s in the semi-final of the Martin Storey tournament, which will take place on Sunday, November 25, at 11.30 a.m. at Hollymount.

DEVELOPMEN­T LOTTOS

results of the Curracloe United Developmen­t lotto for Sunday, November 11, The numbers drawn were 5, 7, 25 and 28. There was no jackpot winner and no match-three winners. Weekly draw takes place every Sunday night at 9 p.m.

There was no winner in the recent Shelmalier GAA developmen­t lotto and one matchthree winner, James Hanley, who won €200.

CURRACLOE SCHOOL NEWS

Congratula­tions to the recent split-the-pot winner Eoin O’Doherty, who won €110.50c. The next draw takes place on Wednesday, November 21, Weekly envelopes (€2 each) can be purchased in the local businesses in Curracloe or at the school.

Bingo continues every Sunday in the school hall from 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Well done to all the members of the girls’ team for their fantastic performanc­e in St Patrick’s Park on Tuesday, November 13, All of the team displayed great skill and sportsmans­hip.

Third to sixth class pupils are really looking forward to performing in the National Opera House on Thursday, November 22, at 7.30 p.m. They have been practising hard for the last few months and cannot wait to show their parents and friends a great time on the night.

A big Thank You to all who sent in shoe boxes for the recent Shoe Box Appeal.

HOTEL CURRACLOE

Thursday night and its Cards (partners 45) at 9 p.m; Friday – Killers Pool and Darts at 9.30 p.m; Saturday its live music at 10.30 p.m; Sunday its live music again and bingo at 7.30 p.m; Food is served all day every day. The weekly winners of cards for turkeys recently were Larry O’Shaughness­y and Joe Kelly.

SCREEN SCHOOL NEWS

Well done to the girls who played in the Rackard League final on Tuesday night of last week. Unfortunat­ely it was not their night, but they played a fantastic game and were great ambassador­s for their schools. Everyone is very proud of them.

Music workshops have started in school for the junior classes, where pupils will be learning all about percussion instrument­s and rhythm. The senior classes will get their turn in the New Year. T.

his month the school have started a brand new children’s book club. If you are interested in trying a new book, why not look at the choices for this month: ‘Ghosts’ by Raina Telgemeier (age 8-10) and ‘The Secrets of Grindle wood’ by Jackie Burke.

The recent clothes collection with NBCI was a great success. With thanks to everyone who brought bags of clothes to the school, a total of €803 was raised for the school. This money will hopefully go towards buying a further two interactiv­e boards for the classrooms.

Keep this date in your diary: On Thursday, December 13, the school will be having their annual carol service followed by the switching on of the lights. Further details will follow soon.
