Cassidy nets double but leaders are held

Division 1

The prolific Shane Cassidy twice fired leaders Kilmore United in front against North End United, but the town side pegged them back on both occasions to earn a 2-2 draw.

Ciarán Carthy and Dean Roche got the goals for North End.

Similar to the pacesetter­s, St. Cormac’s twice held the lead against fellow promotion-hopefuls Campile United, but in the end had to be content with a share of the spoils after a 2-2 draw.

Brian O’Loughlin (penalty) and Mark Walsh got on the scoresheet for the saints, with PJ Banville and Cian Gleeson replying for the visitors.

A Willie Murphy double earned Cloughbawn the points as they edged out Moyne Rangers 2-1, with Lee Jordan replying.

Eoghain Murphy got the only goal of the game as Tombrack won 1-0 away to St. Leonards, while New Ross Town overcame Gorey Celtic 2-0 with David Murphy and Dylan Egan hitting the back of the net.

Division 2

Leaders Glynn Barntown had far too much firepower for struggling Curracloe United on Sunday and ran out impressive 7-2 winners.

Nigel Usher, David Clark, Shane Wilde, Rioghán Crosbie and Jack Fenlon grabbed a goal apiece for the pacesetter­s, while Robert Dempsey added a double.

Second-placed Adamstown kept the pressure on with a convincing 4-0 win over Killenagh Wanderers, with Colin Purcell, Alan Bradley, Ian White and Brandon Sinnott all hitting the back of the net.

Ferns United ran out emphatic 9-0 winners away to Rosslare Port, with Jonny Dwyer bagging a hat-trick, Ivan Meegan netting a double, Ryan Nolan and James Tonks getting one apiece and two own goals adding to their tally.

Seamie McLoughlin, Brian Doyle and Leon Stafford got the goals for Taghmon United as they shared the spoils after a 3-3 draw in Crossabeg.

Division 3

Gorey Rangers dropped their first points of the campaign when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Enniscorth­y Town on Sunday.

Joe Hyland and Darren Cullen got the goals for the cathedral town side.

Shamrock Rovers moved to within six points of the leaders when overwhelmi­ng Raheen 5-1, with Elliott Jordan, Jack Carroll, Seán Wildes, Aaron Wallace and Rob Moorehouse scoring for the winners.

Mikey Hanrahan, Alan Browne and Luke Codd hit the back of the net for Wexford Celtic as they won 3-2 in Bunclody, with Ryan McDonald and Paddy Kavanagh replying for the hosts.

Division 3A

Forth Celtic moved three points clear at the top of Division 3A after a hard-fought win over Bridge Rovers on Sunday.

John Donovan and Mark Tobin got the goals for the Castlebrid­ge side.

Ajax Athletic were pushed all the way by Rosslare Rangers before eventually winning by the odd goal in seven.

Liam Murphy, Glenn Fortune (two) and Jamie O’Grady scored for the Enniscorth­y men, with Darren Morris replying with a double for Rangers and Jamie Tomkins also getting in on the act.

Wexford Bohs are another side that look capable of challengin­g for honours and they proved too good for Corach Ramblers, with Micheál O’Rourke netting a hat-trick and Luke O’Neill scoring their other goal in a 4-1 win. Pat Power got on the scoresheet for Ramblers.

Shane O’Rourke was the match winner for Ballymurn Celtic, netting the only goal of the game as his side edged out Fethard Rangers 1-0.

Division 4

Leaders Rosbercon United moved six points clear at the summit of Division 4 after chalking up a 3-0 win in Ferns on Sunday.

Barry Ryan helped himself to a double for the table-toppers, with Jamie St. Ledger getting their other goal.

Elsewhere, Crossabeg picked up three points when edging out Curracloe United 4-3.

Division 4A

St. Joseph’s moved to the top of Division 4A when they got the better of Tombrack United 2-1 on Sunday.

Gary Murphy and Jamie Warren hit the back of the net for Joey’s, with Eoghain Murphy responding for Tombrack.

Amazingly all four games in the division finished with the same scoreline, with Killenagh Wanderers beating Enniscorth­y United, Enniscorth­y Town overcoming Taghmon United and Caim United edging out St Leonards.

Mark O’Neill and Kallan Murphy scored for Enniscorth­y Town, with Ger Power replying for Taghmon, while Brendan Kearney bagged both goals for Caim and Evan O’Neill hit the back of the net for St. Leonards.

John Doyle and Stephen Doran got on the scoresheet for Killenagh.

Division 5

Shamrock Rovers moved level on points with St. Cormac’s at the top of Division 5 after edging out the Boolavogue side on Sunday.

Mark Redmond’s goal proved the difference as the Enniscorth­y outfit ran out 1-0 winners.

Beau Brennan (two) and Jay Leniston got the goals for Wexford Bohs as they closed to within a point of the top two with a 3-1 win over Cushinstow­n.

Wexford Celtic won 3-1 away to Ferns United, with Stephen Shannon (two) and Ryan Lynch scoring for the winners.
