Are you interested in becoming more energised and healthy by enjoying gentle yoga exercises during these cold wet winter months? Sorcha Hyland is holding a yoga class on Thursday afternoon 1.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the community centre Carrig-on-Bannow.

GAA CLUB NEWS

The following were elected after the AGM on Sunday last. Chair. Donal McLoughlin, Vice Gary Murphy, treasurer Monica Gayner, Assist Majella Currid, secretary Jason Sinnott, PRO Joeanne Roche, Regristar David Staunton, Irish officer Oliver Delvin, Child Officer John Mernagh. Best of luck to all in their positions both old and new.

Lotto draw this Tuesday evening with a jackpot of €9,500. Tickets are only two euro each and can be purchased from Doyle’s Carrig, Seabreeze Drycleaner­s, Tír na nÓg, Staffords Tullacanna and from any Club Officer. Thank you for your continued support to our club.

The Coiste na nÓg AGM will take place on Tuesday, December 11, at 7.30 in the complex. All members are encouraged to attend this very important meeting for the upcoming season.

The Ladies’ Football AGM was held on Monday last all informatio­n about this meeting on the Facebook page.

We welcome Martin Kavanagh to our club he is the our new GPO and we share him with Glynn-Barntown. He will be training our underage teams and will be involved with the school’s.

CONCERT – Inaugural Concert in Grantstown Cultural Centre on Saturday, December 15. Doors open 7.30 p.m. Admission €12 under-14 €7. Come join in a night of foot tapping music and craic with Ireland’s finest Folk/ Traditiona­l band, Green Road. Sing along to old favourites, the truly great songs of the Irish Folk Tradition. Tickets available from Wallaces Department Store, Costcutter­s and the Reception Desk at Grantstown Day.

UPCOMING EVENTS IN GRANTSTOWN COMMUNITY VILLAGE – Tuesday the 11th: Christmas party with music by Joan Quigley. Wednesday the 12th: Danescastl­e National School children performing the Nativity in the morning and Pongo in the afternoon. Bingo at 8 p.m.

Thursday the 13th: Pongo in the morning and Cards/Christmas Decoration making in the afternoon. Monday the 17th: Exercises with Mairead/Games/ Cards in the morning and Pongo in the afternoon.

CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR ARRANGEMEN­TS – Closed: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 24/25/26.

BALLYMITTY HALL

Big Christmas Bingo is on Monday, December 17, at 8 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. Sit-beside prize money and bumper raffle prizes on the night. Tea, cakes and mince pies will also be served. Come along and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere with us and win some money for the Christmas purse.
