The weekly ‘30’ Card Game continues in the community centre this Friday, February 1, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. The next draw in the Adamstown lotto takes place this Friday, February 1, in the community centre for a jackpot of €14,700. Keep on buying the tickets, it could be your lucky day.

CEMETERY COMMITTEE AGM
The Cemetery Committee AGM will now take place in the community centre this Thursday, January 31, at 8 p.m. On behalf of the parish of St Abban’s Fr Nolan PP wishes to thank the Cemetery Committee for their dedication and devotion to the Holy Place where our loved ones rest.

Entrance Assessment Tests: 61 students sat the entrance exams on Saturday the 19th and we are delighted with our 2019/2020 intake of students. Meitheal Awards: Congratulations to our Meitheal Leaders, who got their awards on Wednesday, January 16. Shauna Wickham, Leanne Miller, Laura Dunne, Shannon Banville and Sínead Kehoe.
SOCCER SUCCESS
Huge congratulations to our under-17 and under-14 soccer teams under the guidance of Mr Dixon and Mr Bradley. Both teams have reached the South East semi-finals. We wish them continued success. Visiting Author. We had the honour of welcoming widely renowned author Andy Mulligan to our school last week. His hugely successful novel Trash has now been adapted into a film, which is a prescribed text on the junior syllabus.
WALK OFF THE MONDAY BLUES
Raheen Family Resource Centre intend running organised walks around the pitch in Adamstown starting on Monday, January 28, The walks will start at 9.30 a.m. and they will then be followed by a free healthy cooking demonstration with tasters in the community centre from 10 a.m. to midday.
These walks will take place for four weeks and they are open to all regardless of age of level of fitness, but booking is essential. For further information or to book a space contact Joyce or Bridget at 051 442888.

FOREVER FIT
The Active 50 PLUS is back in full swing on Tuesday mornings in Glynn Hall at the new time of 11 a.m.
This is a gentle exercise class which includes a little dancing and music – it helps to improve balance, flexibility, joint mobility and more it’s total gentle body workout, particularly suited to those who may not want a full aerobics class.

Following on from Elaine’s hugely successful Couch to 5K last January, Glynn-Barntown camogie club invite you to get fit and active for 2019. Elaine has taken registrations and will begin on Monday, January 28, Sessions will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Come along and join the fun while working towards a fitter, healthier you. Well done, girls.
Eimear Jackman, Lara O’Shea, Ciara Butler and their teammates in Loreto, Wexford captured the Leinster Senior ‘A’ camogie cup last Saturday defeating Loreto Kilkenny 4-9 to 1-9. What an amazing achievement.

SENIOR GAA
Hard luck to Mark and the Wexford hurlers defeated laat weekend by Galway in the Walah cup final. Well done to Ger Dempsey and his Trinity College hurling teammates who beat Garda College in the Fitzgibbon Cup recently 1-15 to 0-13.
CLUB LOTTO WON – John and Méabh Cooney won the jackpot in the club lotto draw on Wednesday, January 23, Numbers drawn were 4, 6, 22 and 28. Congratulations to John and Méabh. There were three matchthree winners – Ivan Donoghue, Joe and Niall Donoghue and Jean Wilson. Next draw in Mary Jo’s on February 6 jackpot now at €2,000.
CODE OF BEHAVIOUR COURSE – Glynn-Barntown will be running Code of Behaviour courses in the next few weeks – dates to be confirmed. Remember it is compulsory to complete this course in order to be involved in any capacity with underage teams. NB – if you have attended this course more than five years ago you must complete a refresher course as new guidelines are now in place. With many members stepping down from the committee we ask anyone who has an interest in tennis to attend our AGM on Wednesday, January 30, at 7.30 p.m. in the clubhouse, or to contact a tennis committee member with a view to taking an active part. Taghmon-Camross DANCING AT CAMROSS
The February dance will be held on Friday, February 1, with music by Shane Moore. This will be Shane’s first visit to Camross so come along and give him a great welcome. Dancing from 9.30 p.m. till late. Admission is €10 including the tea and free raffle.
CAMROSS COMMUNITY HALL
The AGM of Camross Community Hall was held on Wednesday, January 23, last. Michael Doyle, chairperson thanked all officers and committee on their hard work and dedication in the running of the hall over the past year. A large amount of renovations were carried out with further work planned for 2019. He thanked all that supported our monthly dances, annual concert and table quiz and also thanked the groups that hire the hall for various events and rehearsals.
Fr Robert McGuire presided over the election of officers and are as follows: chairperson, Michael Doyle; vice chair, Billy Nolan; secretary, Breda Nolan; Joint treasurers, Margaret Nolan and Margaret O’Gorman; PRO, Breda Banville; ANCCR, Robert Nolan, Ann and Eamonn O’Gorman; committee, the above plus Peggy Doyle, Dympna Kelly, Eddie Colfer, Fr Robert McGuire, Lar Banville and Brendan Doyle.
The annual table quiz will be held on Friday, February 15. at 8.30 p.m. in Rochfords Lounge, Camross. Table of four, €20. Raffle and spots.
VEHICLE RUN
A Vehicle Run will be held on Sunday, February 24, with proceeds going to Caroreigh Church Funds. The event will take off from Camross Hall at 12.30 p.m. Registration (€20) from 11.30 a.m. All vehicles must be insured and drivers carry up to date license. Refreshments will be served prior to take off and also on arrival back in hall after the event. There will also be a free raffle.
Help will be required in Camross Hall on Saturday the 23rd at 2 p.m. to prepare for the event and also on Sunday to help serve the food. Scones, buns or cakes will also be very welcome.
ATHLETIC CLUB
