Fantastic fundraising concert has a little bit of everything
BARNTOWN church provided the ideal setting for a concert performance that featured some of the very best local performers.
There was an eclectic line-up of artists involved with the programme including everything from singer-songwriters and dance groups to gymnastics.
The event was organised to raise money for Glynn-Barntown Ladies Gaelic football club and the MC for the night was Cllr George Lawlor – who also performed.
The beautiful setting of the church added to the enjoyment of the occasion and its brilliant acoustic qualities enhanced all of the performances.
Members of the Sheila Grace Dance School performed a number of different routines while the Sirius Dance group performed excerpts from Hairspray and also scenes from the hit musical, Matilda.
One of the very significant aspects to the concert was the varied nature of the performances and a lot of hard work went into ensuring there was something of interest for everyone in attendance.
Members of the Gymstars Gymnastics Club, based in Barntown, gave exemplary displays through a number of very difficult and intricate routines
The Atlas Dance Group also gave a rousing performance while a number of different solo musicians and singers enthralled the audience with powerful renditions of some well-known classic songs.
Cllr Lawlor said it was a very enjoyable evening that was enjoyed by the performers and the audience.
The Wexford Male Voice Choir was also involved. The organisers were delighted with the turnout and thanked all of the performers.
