EASTER OPENING HOURS

Rosslare Community and Sports Centre will remain open over the Easter holiday weekend, offering tennis courts, crazy golf, playground activities, snacks and drinks. Opening Hours: Good Friday 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. Easter Sunday 11 p.m. to 4 p.m. Easter Monday 11 p.m. to 5 p.m.

SOCIAL DANCING

Fancy giving it a whirl? Sessions are held every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rosslare Community Centre. An opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones, keep fit, and maybe pick up a few fancy moves along the way. Teacher available for any debutantes. EASTER PUPPET SHOW

TIDY TOWNS

Please remember the Community Spring Clean up day is Friday, April 19, starting at 10.30 a.m. from the Community Hub in the main carpark. This is part of the National An Taisce Clean up programme and it gives everyone young and otherwise an opportunity to play a part in keeping Rosslare Tidy and Litter Free. Actions always speak louder than words so this is your opportunity to help Rosslare.

Also we will have Free Recycling for Metal (only) on the same day, location is at the rear of the Public Toilets.

NEW 2 U CHARITY BOUTIQUE

Easter’s around the corner, so maybe it’s time to spruce up your wardrobe, without breaking the bank. We are open from Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offer a wide range of clothing, bric-à-brac and small household goods. Good quality donations are always welcome; any out of hours contributions can be handed into the community centre.

OPEN GARDEN

Doyle’s, Orchard Park are opening their garden to the public every Sunday. All are invited; proceeds will be divided between Tagoat Parish Church and Tagoat Day Care centre.

WAVES ART GROUP EXHIBITION

Waves Art Group Rosslare looks forward to hosting an Easter exhibition of their work at Coast Hotel, Rosslare from Wednesday, April 17, to Wednesday, April 24, The group would like to invite all their supporters to come along and share with them in a celebratory wine reception for the official opening at 7 p.m. on April 17.

The public are in for a treat as 12 exhibitors will show almost 60 paintings in a diverse range of media. Waves Art Group Rosslare is a community group in the very best sense of the word where experienced and beginner artists, male, female and a range of age groups mingle together to support each other creatively and socially.

GAA CLUB NEWS

The lotto was not won. The numbers were 11, 19, 25 and 29 on April 9. No winner. No match three. Lucky-dip winners Mary McAnanama, John Hillis, Tommy Sinott, Joan Browne and Betty Ha. Next draw is April 16 in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. and is €4,450.

Our Nursery will be taking a break till after the Easter Holidays.

We are holding a two-day Easter camp on Thursday and Friday, April 18, and 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is for girls and boys aged five – 13. Hurling/Camogie, Football and fun games. Cost €15 including Easter Egg hunt. To book call Derek at 086 8371879.

Wednesday and Friday in Kilrane NS at 8.45 a.m., Rosslare Strand on Thursdays.

Our Adult team had a great win against Bannow 2-14 to 1-8 second round of the football and have won two matches now, so looking good for a quarter final place. They start their Hurling campaign on April 14 at 2 p.m. against Fern’s St Aidan’s in Ballymurn. Their second is April 21 at 2 p.m. against Davidstown-Courtnacuddy in Killurin. Please come and support them.

Our under-15 play St Mary’s of Maudlintown at 6.45 p.m. at home on April 18 football and then change to Hurling away to Ballyhogue at 7 p.m. on April 25 and away to Taghmon on May 2 at 7.15.

Our under-13 will play Hurling match away on April 30 against Rathgarogue-Cushinstown and Football away to same opposition on May 7 at 19.15.

We had a great under-nine blitz held on Saturday, April 13, in Tagoat with over 20 teams taken part. We had two teams involved with both doing very well. this was our second blitz this year for we held an under-11 one as well. we hope to hold a lot of these in our club this year and will be attending others in the county as well.

The shop is open on home match days and is stocked with socks, nicks, tops, hurls etc. in the colours of the club. So come a long and wear the club colours.

CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS

Training for under-six and under-eights has now moved to Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 7.30 p.m. We hope to be outside weather permitting. Please wear boots but bring runners just in case we have to move inside. Don’t forget the €2 for club lotto. Those, who have not paid membership should see Sue at training for forms.

There is an under-12 group blitz on Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m. in Tagoat. Best of luck to our two teams competing. On Tuesday night we play host to Clonard, Faythe Harriers and St Ibar’s.

Rosslare Strand FC will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a dinner dance on Friday, April 19, at 8 p.m. at Coast Rosslare Strand. We are calling on all past and present players, officials and supporters to come and help us celebrate this tremendous milestone.
