Seven up for seasiders

Curracloe continue great start to campaign

Division 2

Curracloe United continued their perfect start to their Division 2 campaign with a 7-1 demolition of Gorey Rangers on Sunday.

Kerill Sutton and Conor Sutton both helped themselves to doubles for the victors, while Conor Hearne, Ryan Donnelly and Stephen McGuire added a goal apiece as they made it four wins from four.

Taghmon United are also ticking along quite nicely, and they edged out Enniscorth­y United 2-1 with goals from Ryan Banville and Cathal Murphy, with Niall Thorpe replying.

Raheen stormed back from a 3-1 deficit at the break to earn a 5-3 win away to Gorey Celtic. Goals from Edmunds Prudskojs (two) and Paddy Fleming looked to have the north county men in control, but the visitors had other ideas, with Paddy Whitty and Enda Wickham both netting doubles, and Frank Staples also getting in on the act to seal the win.

Tommy Byrne, Matty Flynn and Ben Whitty got the goals for St. Leonards as they edged out Shamrock Rovers 3-2, with Owen McDonald and Sam Murphy replying.

Crossabeg went on a scoring spree, overwhelmi­ng Rosslare Port 7-1. Davie Fenlon was in fine form, netting four goals, while Eoin Kelly, James Carley and David Berney grabbed one apiece.

Division 3

Rosslare Strand moved to the summit of Division 3 with a 3-0 triumph against Wexford Celtic on Sunday.

A well-taken early goal from Danny O’Reilly sent Strand on their way and, despite having a man sent-off, a lightning break from Dillon Parle midway through the second-half doubled their advantage.

Wexford Celtic were also reduced to ten men late on, and from the resulting free Conor Clancy stroked home Strand’s third goal.

Forth Celtic dropped to second spot after they were beaten by Duncannon. Aaron Gregg headed home a corner to put the seasiders in front, and Aaron Curry made it 2-0 after some good work on the left wing from Donie Barron and Keith Donnelly.

Forth fought back to level with goals from Darren Jordan and Keith Murphy, but Duncannon grabbed the winner, with Devin Wall-Walsh heading home with five minutes remaining.

Shelburne hit struggling Bree United for seven without reply, with Harry Kehoe and Bryan Cody both netting doubles, and Jack Murphy, Kieran Kelly and Patrick Barron scoring one each.

Division 3A

All Blacks made it five wins from five on Sunday as they earned a hard-fought 2-1 win in Bunclody, with goals from Darren Naughton and Shane Cassidy.

Ian Farrell, Luke O’Neill, Aaron McMahon and Ben Walsh got the goals for Wexford Bohs in their 4-1 win away to Fastnet Rovers.

Rathnure overcame Oylegate United 4-2, with Shane Lawlor and A.J. Redmond (two) hitting the back of the net for the winners and an own goal adding to their tally.

Alex Wilson, Craig Coughlan, Peter Culleton and Johnny Coughlan scored for Crossabeg as they earned the local bragging rights with a 4-2 win over Ballymurn Celtic, who replied with an Eoghan Kehoe penalty and an own goal.

Elsewhere, Rosbercon United and Courtown shared the spoils, with Kevin Doyle scoring for the former and Liam Condren replying for Hibs.

Division 4

Darren Morris netted a dramatic late winner for Rosslare Rangers to give them a three-point advantage at the top of the Division 4 table.

Jamie Tomkins had fired them in front against Ferns United, but the visitors looked to have rescued a point when Owen Ronan hit the back of the net in injury time.

However, Rangers were then awarded a penalty and Morris kept his cool to convert the spot-kick.

Camolin moved level with Kiltealy Celtic in second spot as they saw off Cloughbawn 3-1 with goals from Peter McSwiney (two) and Daryl Murphy.

Elsewhere, Eoin O’Connor and Conor Neville got the goals for Corach Ramblers as they overcame Carne FC 2-0.

Division 4A

Curracloe United joined Campile at the top of Division 4A thanks to a 2-1 away win over Enniscorth­y Town on Sunday.

Rob McGuinness and James Doyle scored for the winners, with Dave Coyne replying.

Castledock­rell and Shamrock Rovers came away with a point apiece after a 2-2 draw, with Niall Beggan and Peter Nolan scoring for the former and Mark Redmond and Ryan Heimsoth responding.

Division 5

Camolin Celtic moved level with Enniscorth­y United at the top of Division 5 after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Shelburne on Sunday.

Stuart Byrne and Cian Byrne scored for the winners, with Seán Moran replying.

Barry Brennan, Robert Cogley and William Murphy hit the back of the net for All Blacks as they beat Wexford Celtic 3-1, with Alex Innes scoring from the penalty spot for the Sinnottsto­wn Lane crew.

Ajax Athletic and Tombrack United shared the spoils after a 3-3 draw, with Jamie O’Grady (two) and Adam Fox scoring for the Rajahs, and Harry Fitzpatric­k (two) and Eoghan Murphy on target for United.
