Tomhaggard Women’s Shed are going to Newbridge Silverware and Kildare Village Shopping Centre on Saturday, December 7. There are a small number of seats available if anyone is interested. Tomhaggard Social Centre Committee would like to invite you and your families for a community social afternoon and switching on of Christmas tree lights in the Social Centre on Sunday, December 8, at 3 p.m. It is a small thank you for your continued support of groups using the facilities, Fundraisin­g and attending events in the heart of the community. Bingo started in Ballycogle­y hall and will continue each Sunday evening at 7.30 p.m. Forever Fit class each Wed. night at 7.30 and pilates for over-50s on Friday mornings at 11.30. The annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal takes place in all churches of the diocese of Ferns on the weekend of December 7/8. Christmas can be the most worrying time of the year for some and your continued generosity is greatly appreciate­d. Thank you.

WALKING TRACK

For all our early morning walkers/runners the community walking track lights come on each morning at 6 a.m. till natural day light. The tracks lights are on seven evenings a week from 5 p.m. till 9.45 p.m. For your informatio­n one lap is equal to 575m or 0.575km or just one third of a mile.

BINGO

Bingo returned to Ballycogle­y hall after 28 years when the St Fintan’s GAA Club held the first of its scheduled Sunday evening sessions with ‘eyes down’at 7.30 p.m.

The club is very thankful for the support it received and we hope to see you all once again in the coming weeks. Why not come along to an evening of fun and take your chance on winning the jackpot, the split-the-pot or any of the many valuable prizes. It was great to be back and while we value your support we also value your advice.

ST FINTAN’S

The losers of Na Fianna versus St Anne’s will host Sarsfields in the quarter final to decide who will join St Fintan’s/Our Lady’s Island, Starlights and Castletown in the semi-finals of the Greenstar under-20 football championsh­ip premier B the county convention will be held in Whites Hotel on December 9 at 7 p.m.
