A collection for Chernobyl Children Internatio­nal takes place this week until December 21 daily from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. at Kilanerin Community Centre. TYNDALL

An exhibition of work by artists Aoife Banville and Elayne O’Connor will continue to be exhibited in the Presentati­on Centre in Enniscorth­y until December 20.

The title of the exhibition, ‘Tyndall’, relates to the ‘Tyndall effect’ where small particles cause a scattering of light to make rainbows or a blue sky; small effects with a big impact, the occurence was originally discovered by an Irish physicist named John Tyndall. SANTA’S NORTH POLE EXPERIENCE

Enter the magical and captivatin­g world of the North Pole during Santa’s North Pole Experience, which will be on Wexford Quay this Christmas as part of Wexford Winterland.

Firstly, children and families will meet Ellie the Elf. Then, the Enchanted Gates will lead people into the Elves’ Village where children can post their letters in Santa’s official post box. Children will also visit the Elves’ Workshop. Patch the Elf will then bring families, individual­ly, to meet and receive a gift from Santa Claus.

The cost of entry varies: children aged 3-12: €17; toddlers aged 1 – 2: € 8.50; children under 12 months: free; adults: €8.50. Children and toddler tickets include a gift from Santa

Claus. Under 12 months tickets do not include a gift. You can book a toddler ticket for a baby if you wish.

ART EXHIBITION

’My Town’ exhibition by artist Michael Sheridan begins tonight from 7.30 p.m. in Gorey’s Market House on the Main Street. It runs until Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. at same venue and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. ‘My Town’ pays homage to Michael’s hometown of Gorey and the colourful work is distinctiv­e in its clean lines, and express both the vibrant spirit and atmosphere of the delightful buildings. Picturesqu­e structures are all brought to life with contrastin­g and harmonious colours and bold compositio­ns. All welcome.

WEXFORD ON ICE

Wexford on Ice will take place on the Quay in Wexford Town right up until January 5. This authentic ice rink is one of the biggest in the country,

There will also be sensory friendly and wheelchair family skate sessions on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10.a.m. (These sensory friendly sessions will be free, with the organisers just asking for a donation to a charity on the day).

The cost is €11 - €48 (prices vary at off-peak times and for family bookings). Off-peak adult – €13; offpeak child (12 years and under) – €11; off-peak family of 3 – €34; off-peak family of 4 – €40. Off-peak dates are Monday to Friday from December 3 to December 20. On-peak adult – €15; onpeak child (12 years and under) – €13; on-peak family of 3 – €40; on-peak family of 4 – €48. On-peak dates are Saturday and Sundays from November 24 to December 16 and daily from Friday, December 21 to January 6.

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the last skate is from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wexford on Ice will be closed on Christmas Day.
