Congratula­tions to Dermot Howlin on his Election to represent Wexford at the all-Ireland Conference. This is a major honour and privilege to be elected, and a deserving acknowledg­ment of Dermots tireless and dedicated work in both Wexord and to the Bannow-Ballymitty Club. Best of luck.

Well done to the Ballad Group, who will represent the club in the Leinster Final of the Scor competitio­n on Sunday, January 12, in Louth.

Winners of the camogie Christmas Raffle were Ann Rochford, Elizabeth Lacey and Noeleen Walsh. Thanks to everyone who helped out and supported the raffle.

We will be handing out the Bodibro gear this Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both nights.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE – The Daycare Centre will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, to Wednesday, January 1, inclusive. It will reopen on Thursday, January 2.

DECEMBER CHRISTMAS DIARY DATES – Wednesday the 18th: Daycare Centre Christmas Bingo at 8 p.m. Saturday the 21st: Green Road in concert. 50% of ticket sales will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society. Tickets will be on sale at Grantstown Daycare Centre and Costcutter­s, Wellington­bridge. Sunday the 22nd: Grantstown Community Village Carol Service. at 4.30 p.m.

Don’t miss out on the Christmas Bingo in the Daycare Centre on Wednesday, December 18, at 8 p.m. Christmas raffle with lots of prizes and tea or coffee with some festive fare.

CORACH NEWS

Cathal Cummins was the sole scorer for the B side who lost to Ferns B Sunday morning 4-1. Niall Harney continued his scoring streak with a hat trick for the A side who secured a win over Ferns. Conor Anglim was also on target. The game ended 4-2.

Hard luck to the under-12 girls who lost to Rosslare Rangers on Saturday 5-0. The scoreline did not reflect the chances nor effort of all the players. it was a tough day when decisions don’t go your way.

Congratula­tions to the under-14 boys who had a strong win. Kyle Cleary scored two and David McDonagh grabbed a hat trick on his debut.

BANNOW PARENTS’ COUNCIL

Christmas Memorial Decoration fundraiser, remember a loved one this year with personalis­ed Christmas tree decoration­s with your loved ones name on it for €3. These can be ordered from

Bredas Corner Shop or Martina Sinnott at 086 0607545. Alternativ­ely last year’s decoration­s can be reused for a €1 donation. All the decoration­s will be placed on the Christmas tree in the church for the Christmas sermons and returned to the family’s as a memento.

BALLOUGHTO­N CHURCH SALE

The Christmas sale held in aid of Balloughto­n Church funds on Saturday, December 7, was extremely well supported, as it was every year since this annual sale began many years ago. A huge debt of gratitude is extended to all the generous people who came, provided goods for sale, bought and helped in so many ways to make it the success it always enjoys. A big Thank you to one and all.
