TACUMSHANE CHRISTMAS CONCERT

The first ever Christmas Concert in St Catherine’s Church will take place this Wednesday, December 18, at 8 p.m., featuring, Paul Rossiter, George Lawlor and Guests, Tickets €15 available from O’Doherty’s Londis, Lady’s Island Coffee Shop, Meyler’s Millhouse. ST STEPHEN’S DAY SWIM

The annual St Stephen’s Day Swim takes place at Carne Beach (near pier) 11.30 a.m. Registrati­on and start time midday Proceeds to Our Lady’s Island NS Hot chocolate/tea coffee and treats afterwards to Warn the cockles of all the brave swimmers. BOOK ON FORTH AND BARGY DIALECT.

Sascha Santschi-Cooney’s newly published book on the Forth and Bargy dialect is now available in O’Doherty’s Londis, Lady’s Island, the Wexford Book Centre, Red Books in St Peter’s Square, and the National Heritage Park. It is also available for purchase from Sascha, Carne, himself or James Maloney, Lady’s Island. The launch will not take till the New Year.

REMEMBRANC­E CHRISTMAS TREE

This year the Christmas Tree in the church grounds will be for rememberin­g our loved ones at Christmas, home or abroad, unwell or deceased. Personalis­ed wooden ornaments to hang on the tree will be available to purchase for €5 in the community centre on Sat. And Sunday after Mass and in Gift Shop Prayers for the names on the tree will be offered at Mass on Saturday, December 21, 7 p.m. For more informatio­n contact Teresa at 087 0541606.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Jacinta Byrne on winning €94 in last week’s split-the-pot draw. Envelopes available in O’Dohertys, Meylers and Rosslare HbrPost office. Draw takes place in Community Hall after Sunday Mass.

CHANGE OF DATE

The ICA Christmas Dinner in the Lobster Pot has been moved from Thursday to Friday, December 20, at 6.30 p.m.

ST PAUL’S AC

The winter league was held over three evenings in November at the Track in Enniscorth­y. We had large numbers competing over the three rounds with some great performanc­es the overall results were St Paul’s’ boys third the girls fifth and a sixth place finish for the club overall. Congratula­tions and well done to all, a special thank you to all parents, guardians and coaches who made the trip to Enniscorth­y each evening. Full results of each round are on our Facebook page.

Monday, December 16, will be our last evening before Christmas and we will have our Christmas party and winter League Medal presentati­on night and fun activities with Johnny at 5.30 p.m.

We are taking a break for Christmas for all groups and will see you all in again in January 2020.
