Well done and sincere thanks to Robert and Paula Dunne of ‘Bob’s Bar’, The Ballagh on presenting a substantia­l cheque to the committee of the Ballagh senior citizens Christmas party, the proceeds of recent charity bingo.

BOXING SUCCESSES

Congratula­tions to Ryan Cullen, who was victorious last Sunday week in the Leinster Box Cup, in Kildare, in the Leinster Squad Internatio­nal and commiserat­ions to James Cullen who, as always, performed very well.

Huge well done also to Jake Cox, Enniscorth­y Boxing Academy, who defeated a Welsh opponent, Gary Richards to win Gold in the Odivelas Box Cup in Portugal recently.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Well done to Joan Kavanagh and friends, who handed over €5,000 to the Cardiac Unit, Wexford Hospital as a result of their wonderful fundraisin­g efforts in Bob’s Bar, The Ballagh, The Oulart Hill Bar, The Crosses, Kilmuckrid­ge, Corrigan’s Pub, Blackwater and ‘Pat the Chap’ Vintage Club. Money was also raised from ‘Cash for Clothes’ and a scrap collection.

SPLIT-THE-POT

MARTIN STOREY TOURNAMENT

The finals of the annual Martin Storey Tournament were played in Oulart on Sunday, December 8. Congratula­tions to Monageer-Boolavogue on winning Division 3, to Duffry-Rovers on winning Division 2 and to the home team, Oulart-The Ballagh on winning Division 1.

Míle buíochas to Willie Cleary for organising the Tournament, to Martin Storey and Ray Harris, who presented the medals to the winning teams and the ‘Most Improved Player’ trophies. Thank you also to Hamish Stuart, who led the parades playing the Bagpipes. Well done also to club chairman Bartle Sinnott and the club volunteers who looked after the pitch, car-park, refreshmen­ts, dressing-rooms, stewarding and umpiring, ensuring that everything ran smoothly on the day.

300 CLUB DRAW

The prize-winners in October were Aodhagán and Emer Swords (€100), Michael and Margaret Leacy (€50), George Blackburn (€50). Kevin Kennedy, Lar Sutton and Mary and Paidh Doyle won similar prizes in the November draw.

CLUB LOTTO

The numbers drawn on Monday, December 9, were 4, 14, 29 and 31. The Bonus number was 10. The prize-fund was 15,000 and there was no outright winner. The lucky-dip winners of €30 each were: Jenny McLoughlin, Ethan Freeman, Nuala Doyle, Emma and Bailey O’Connor and Bridget O’Toole. The next draw will take place in the GAA complex on Sunday, December 22. Book of six for €10. Book of 12 for €20.
