PUBLIC INFORMATIO­N EVENT

A five-year community plan for Rosslare and its environs has been prepared to strategica­lly direct the further enhancemen­t of this area, so that it can maximise its potential for the benefit of all. A Public Informatio­n Event will be held on Monday, January 20, between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Rosslare Community and Sports Centre where the report recommenda­tions will be unveiled. All are welcome to drop in and review the draft report, key findings and the results from the household/youth surveys.

ROSSLARE YOUTH CLUB

Following our Christmas break, we’re back to our usual schedule and will meet every Friday at Rosslare Community from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. New members always welcome – see our Facebook page.

BOOT CAMP

Put those New Year Resolution­s into practice. Qualified Personal trainer Liam Kehoe will take you through your paces in his 2020 Boot Camp. Every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30 p.m. at Rosslare Community Centre. For more info contact Liam at 087 0635416 or @liamkehoep­t

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Our AGM will be held on January 14 at 10.30 a.m. in Coast Hotel, when membership will be renewed and a new committee will be elected. We hope there will be a good turnout for the AGM and we welcome all members and potential new members on that date. Our weekly coffee mornings continue each Tuesday at 10.30 a.m.

We plan to go to see Titanic by Wexford Light Opera in the National Opera House on Monday, April 27. The tickets cost €17.50 and names and money should be given to the treasurer as soon as possible. This early booking allows the seats to be booked early and all members to be seated together on the night.

We will have a guided tour of Johnstown Castle on January 20 at 2.30 p.m., and we plan to meet at the Castle Café at 1.30 for a light lunch beforehand. Our annual lunch is booked in Kelly’s Hotel for Thursday, February 20, at 1 p.m., the cost for members is €15 pp, non-members are welcome to join us on the day cost €25 pp.

We have a holiday in the Castlecour­t Hotel in Westport on April 19 for five nights b and b with four evening meals, daily guided tours on the four days plus entertainm­ent in the hotel each night. This has been secured at a very good price of €395 pps all inclusive, some single rooms available at supplement of €20 per night. Names and deposits to be paid in January, further informatio­n at the meetings or coffee mornings. Finally a Happy New Year to all our members.

BIBLE STUDIES EVENING

A Bible studies evening will be held each Wednesday in the Fort Room, Rosslare Community Centre (7 p.m. to 8 p.m.). The evening will involve discussion in an informal and friendly setting. All are welcome; for more informatio­n contact Avril or Jenita at 086 6627681.

COIS BARRY COMMUNITY HOUSE

Cois Barry Community Centre in Rosslare Strand has teamed up with Kelly’s Resort Hotel to introduce a free course in the Hospitalit­y Industry. The course will include Barista training, Table waiting and Bar – Tending.
