NEW ROSS

Unfortunately, the weekend saw extreme temperatures which resulted in the club competition being called off.

This was done due to frozen ground, care for the course, and respect for the competition and sponsor.

The 16-hole v. par has been re-scheduled for next Sunday, January 26, and we hope for better conditions and a good entry.

Membership subscriptions can now be paid, either through the office and bar or via standing order.

COOLLATTIN

Wednesday, January 15, twelve-hole open singles competition: 1, Keith Boyd (18), 26 points (countback); 2, Joe Hillard (11), 26 points.

There was no winner of the Joker jackpot, and the weekly prize winner was Seán Moynihan, proving that lightning can strike twice on the same day. The jackpot next week will be €635.

The teams for the winter league have now been selected and are posted in the gents’ locker room. These teams have all been named after leading Irish golf courses.

The leading team after two weeks is Adare Manor on 248 points, followed by Portmarnock on 242 points. In third place are the Druids Glen team on 231 points, and they are closely followed by Palmerstown on 231 points.

Would winter league players please ensure that they return their weekly card for every competition?
