OPERATION TRANSFORMATION WALKS.
St Fintan’s GAA Club are taking part in the ‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking initiative in partnership with the GAA and Operation Transformation. The club will host a community walking group two nights a week during the broadcast period of the hit RTÉ show. The walks will take place 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday night for the eight-week period. Participants in the community walks will need to sign in each night before walking. Come along and join in.

Our under-12 girls had an early start heading to corach for 10 kick off, thankfully avoided the rain on very windy morning and booked their place in the premier division beating the home side 5-0 with goals from Jolie (3) and Ava (2) and winning five out of five games in region. girls will know the other teams in the division in next couple of weeks, well done to all 10 who travelled yesterday morning.
Back to big barn where are under-16 girls welcomed seaview to Casey park and took all three points in the premier division winning 2-1, with goals from Ashling and Katie.
Next up our second under-16 team welcomed bree to Casey park and came away with the points in a cold and very windy big barn winning 5-0, with Aoibheann (4) and Sinéad finding the net, well done to both teams especially as both where short some of their regular players due to other commitments.
The women travelled to Enniscorthy Utd this morning and took home all three points with a 13-0 victory against the home side well done all 13 involved this morning... goals from Eleanor (4), Rachel (2), Melissa (2), Natasha (3) and Emma (2). The Men’s A team marched into the second round of the Billy Brown Cup with an emphatic 7-1 win over Kiltealy at Casey Park. Goals from Adam Devereaux, Darren Naughton, David Moore and four goals from Dot Moore gave the lads the win. Well done men and roll on the next round.
SCHOOLS SENIOR HURLING
St Fintan’s man Jack O’Leary was a member of the St Peter’s college team when it took on St Kieran’s (Kilkenny) in the Top Oil Leinster schools senior hurling A championship during the recent past. Though beaten Jack in the full back position more than held his own. The St Fintan’s club sends its best wishes to Rathgarogue/Cushionstown junior football team when it takes on Na Gaeil of Kerry on Saturday next in the all-Ireland club final and in doing so became the first Wexford club football team to qualify for an all-Ireland final and the third Wexford team to play club football in Croke park. St fintan’s was the second club back in 1980 a journey the players and supporters will never forget.

ST KILLIAN’S AC NEWS
St Killian’s AC indoor athletic training takes place at Crossabeg national school every Monday night from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. for the older group. On Thursday evening, the younger group train from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m and the older group from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m New members are most welcome. Anyone wishing to supervise should contact a member of the committee. All need to be Garda Vetted as per Child Protection regulations.
Registration fees are now due and it is necessary that all who are training must be covered by insurance. Forms are available at the weekly sessions, and parents can also pay online.
The Leinster Indoors take place on February 1 and two in Athlone. Athletes from under-12 to under-19 can compete. If interested please ask for details at training. The Co. Wexford Schools Cross Country takes place in Adamstown on Thursday, January 23, and on Thursday, January 30, the South Leinster Schools Cross Country takes place at the Hurling Club in Carlow town.

A public meeting will be held in the Stella Maris centre on Tuesday, January 21, at 8 p.m. to discuss the proposed extension to the Stella Maris Centre and the building of a car park. As funding deadline drawdown is imminent, this is the opportunity to contribute to the discussion on the proposed development. LEINSTER MASTERS CROSS COUNTRY – Jackie Carthy travelled to Gowran today for the Leinster Masters Cross Country Championships, with high hopes of putting in another strong performance in the 4k race. Jackie ran very strongly throughout to finish in sixth overall and was the winner of the O45 category. Another great win for Jackie.
GOOD LUCK – Next weekend is the Mr Oil County Masters Cross County Championships. Adamstown AC will play host to the race. Good luck to our members running.
COUCH TO 5K – This is now back every Monday at 7 p.m. in Kilmore GAA Grounds. Perfect to kick start the New Year. All adults welcome to come along, improve their fitness with the ultimate aim of running 5k.

Bowls practice on Tuesday night as usual in the Stella Maris Centre at 7 p.m. There will be a county league game between Kilmore Seals and New Ross Beta on Wednesday the 22nd at 2 p.m. also in the SMC. If the Slaney Pride (Enniscorthy) team can come down on the 22nd for their game with Kilmore Gulls then that game will be at 1 p.m. and the New Ross game will be at 2.30 p.m.
