SLANEY ADVENTURE RACE

The Slaney Adventure Race will take place on Saturday, February 8, same routes and events as last year.

Cycle 30k (from Bree Community Centre), Kayak 1k (Killurin), Run 6.5k forest run (finish in Bree Community Centre). See Facebook page for link to register.

YOGA CLASSES

Yoga Classes with Grace will resume in the Bree Community Centre Dance Studio on Monday, February 3, at 8.15 p.m. and on Thursday mornings at 10.15 a.m. Sessions are €10.

BALLYHOGUE DINNER DANCE

Ballyhogue GAA Club and Ballyhogue Ladies’ Football Club dinner dance takes place on Friday, February 28, in the Riverside Park Hotel at 8 p.m. Music is by Denny Davitt and the Heartbeats.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL NO 19

Bree Parish Journal No 19 is now on sale. The journal covers many of the events and activities in the area over the past two years, as well as a number of items of historical interest. The cost of the journal is €10 and it is available in Byrnes of Bree, Keeleys. Ballybrenn­an, Londis Tomnalosse­t and also in the Bookshops in Enniscorth­y and Wexford.

BREE MACRA

Good luck to the Bree Macra team taking part in the national final of the Capers show competitio­n in Éire Óg Hall in Ovens, Co Cork this Saturday, February 1, at 8 p.m. All support for the event would be greatly appreciate­d.

The Bree Macra 60th Anniversar­y dinner dance is taking place in the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorth­y on Friday, March 27. Tickets are €35 and are available from any committee member. For more informatio­n please contact 087 7660602.

BALLYHOGUE GAA LOTTO

Since we relaunched the Lotto last March, the jackpot has been won three times. We have had over 130 match-three winners and paid out approximat­ely €20,000 in prize money.

Your support is extremely important to the success of our club and we have plans to develop the grounds in the next few years especially for the underage. We would appreciate if you would consider renewing your annual subscripti­on in the next few weeks or if you are not yet a member joining our lotto. It is €21 a month by standing order or €250 in a one-off payment for 12 months of draws. You also get a free model county draw ticket, worth €50.

Bree Community Centre AGM will take place on Monday, February 10, at 8.30 p.m.

And all organisati­ons using the community centre are especially asked to be represente­d.

SCOIL MHUIRE NS BALLYHOGUE

Friday, January 17, was a very special day for Scoil Mhuire NS Ballyhogue. The school has been awarded a Health Promoting School Flag on the basis that there are many positive initiative­s in the school which aim to improve the health and fitness of all the students there. It is a huge achievemen­t for the school and Nuala Harper from the HSE presented the pupils with their award and raised the flag. Well done to all involved.
