Curracloe edge even closer to Under-14 Premier Division title
SEAVIEW TRAVELLED to Cushinstown and picked up their first win of the Under-12 league season on a 5-1 scoreline.
Abbie Gaffney was on target for the home side, but two goals each from Becky Foley and Carla Rossiter as well as one from Molly McDonald gave the visitors all three points.
Curracloe are edging closer and closer to the Under-14 Premier title after they travelled to Aughrim and came away with their sixth win of the season which moves them within a point of securing the league.
Willow Jordan scored for Aughrim, but goals from Grace Donohoe and Polly Redmond gave the seasiders a very important three points to leave them on the verge of becoming the first title winners of the season.
In the other game in the division, New Ross Town overcame All Blacks by the odd goal in five to move second in the table.
Two goals from Ella Nolan and one from Emma Rossiter saw the home side secure their fourth win of the season, while Muireann Hayes and Tara Cullen were on target for All Blacks.
A 4-0 win for Bridge Rovers away to Adamstown saw them move six points clear at the top of Division 1, with Sofia Kotun scoring two while Aoife Doran and Kaytlin Conroy added one each.
Bunclody came out on top in their local derby away to Ballindaggin, with Leah Kavanagh and Jenna Conroy scoring in a 2-0 win.
Issy Kenna netted twice for Courtown Hibs in their match at home to Gorey Rangers, but two goals each from Eabha Martin and Grace Beasley plus one apiece from Megan Bradshaw and Kate Murphy saw the visitors run out 6-2 winners.
Rosslare Rangers secured their first win of the season when overcoming Forth Celtic 3-2 in the only game played in Division 2A, with Eabha Griffin scoring two and Emma O’Rourke also finding the net for the winners.
Carla White scored both goals for Forth Celtic.
Tombrack United returned to the top of Division 2B when they travelled to fellow title challengers Coolboy Rangers and came away 2-1 winners in very windy conditions.
Megan Hayes scored both goals to secure a vital three points.
Corach Ramblers kept the pressure on the leaders with an early morning 5-1 win over New Ross Celtic, while Enniscorthy United collected their second win of the season as they overcame Fastnet Rovers 3-0.
Similar to their first team, Curracloe’s second team are also powering towards a league title as they moved three points clear at the top of Division 3 with a game in hand.
They overcame All Blacks’ second team 10-2 with Mia Denton scoring four, Ciara Whelan getting a hat-trick, Molly O’Brien adding two, and Naomi Breen-Denton rounding off the scoring for Curracloe.
St. Leonards kept the pressure on the leaders as they travelled to Kilmore United and came away 5-3 winners. Millie Bates, Hallie Doyle and Erin Godden were on target for Kilmore, while Heidi O’Shea, Lucy Dillon, Doireann Rossiter replied, with Katie Whelan adding two.
Ferns United collected their first win of the season when running out 6-0 winners over Shamrock Rovers, with Leah Murphy, Ella Warren and Katie Murphy all scoring two goals each.
Two top-class games in the Under-18 Premier Division saw Aughrim Rangers draw 3-3 with North End United, while St. Leonards and Moyne Rangers also shared the spoils (2-2).
Zoe Katus, Leah Geraghty and Aoife Connolly were on target for Aughrim, but two goals from Katie Law and one from Lydia McGrath earned the Wexford girls a point.
In Under-18 Division 1, Arklow Town travelled to Bree and went away with the three points, running out 4-2 winners.
Holly Murphy and Aoife Murphy were on target for Bree, but goals from Ella Jenkinson, Leiden Kavanagh, Zarha Murphy and Aoife Kavanagh made the long journey home a happy one for the Arklow girls.
