DEATH

Deepest sympathy to the Walsh family, Graigue Hill on the death of Alice last Thursday, January 30. Alice is survived by her sisters Maudie, Kitty, Hannah and the late Chrissy, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She reposed at home on Thursday and Friday with removal on Saturday to church of Mary Immaculate and St Joseph Carrig-on-Bannow for funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.

GAA CLUB NEWS

This week’s lotto draw takes place this Tuesday evening with a jackpot of €14,000 to be won. Tickets are Two euro each and can be purchased from Doyle’s Carrig, Seabreeze Dry Cleaners, Wallace’s Hardware, Costcutter­s, Tír na nÓg, Staffords Tullycanna and from any Club Officer over in the complex.

Bannow-Ballymitty, Kilmore and the Volunteers Award one Gaelic Football Course starts March 4 and will continue for 11th, 18th, 21st and March 25. Venues to be confirmed depending on numbers. Anyone interested please Lar Whelan 087 6683924 as soon as possible.

CORACH RAMBLERS

The Men’s A side lost 2-1 to Adamstown despite some great play. Jon Reville was on target.

The B side went down 3-2 to Bridge Rovers with Mark Hayes and Conor Neville both scoring.

The ladies received a walkover which places them back on top of the league.

On Saturday the under-14 boys had a great 9-0 win v Shamrock Rovers. David McDonagh grabbed four goals, Emmet Ralph and Calum Kirin both scored two each and Kyle Cleary was also on target.

Finally well done to Ann North, who won this week’s split-thepot. Thanks to all our supporters and the host businesses.

SAD PASSING

The parishes of Bannow and Rathangan were deeply sorry to say goodbye to John Sammy Sinnott, who sadly passed away last Saturday, January 25, in his 91st year. Sammy was a popular publican in Duncormick for the past 60 years and will be missed by all. He was a great character who had a smile and a good story for everyone. His remains were removed from Ryan’s funeral parlour on Sunday evening to church of the Assumption Rathangan with funeral Mass on Monday at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. A large crowd attended his funeral and he will be sadly missed by his family, relatives, friend Ann and his many customers and wide circle of friends. Rest in peace Sammy.

DEATH

Deepest sympathy to Michael O’Dwyer and family Ballygow on the death of his sister Mary Cooney in Tipperary last Thursday, January 30.

Funeral Mass was on Saturday at 2 p.m. in St Michael’s Church, Tipperary with burial afterwards in St Michael’s Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
