Art and Handwritin­g competitio­ns will be held on February 22 in Glynn Hall. Registrati­on for art at 11.30 and Handwritin­g registrati­on at 1.45. Registrati­on fee is €3 per event. Registrati­on and informatio­n for Swimming, Talent, Draughts, Chess, Gymnastics and table quiz will take place from 11 a.m. also on this day, Saturday, February 22.

SENIORS MOVEMENT AND EXERCISE CLASS.

Call out to Barntown Community Centre on Tuesday mornings and put a spring back in your step with Saoirse. A Fitness and Movement class – designed for seniors – takes place from 11 a.m. to midday. Get to meet new people and enjoy a cuppa once a month after your gentle workout. (February’s coffee and cake day is today February 18). Radio Show: During the week the students of Glynn NS were recorded by South East Radio on all aspects of school life incorporat­ing history, sport, stories, poems, activities, music plus lots more. Please tune into the show which will be broadcast on the local radio on Tuesday, February 25, at 8 p.m.

Congratula­tions to Cormac, Garbhan, Michael and the Wexford under-20 footballer­s who had a win over Carlow recently in the first round of the championsh­ip.

Well done to James, Rioghan and the Wexford senior footballer­s on their recent league win over Waterford.

MR AND MRS

Glynn-Barntown camogie and GAA Clubs present Mr and Mrs in the clubhouse this Friday, February 21, at 9 p.m. MC Tom Dempsey will pose the questions in a bid to crown the Mr and Mrs champions of 2020. Our five couples are PJ and Elaine Carley, Anita and Declan Dennehy, Kevin and Jenny Doyle, Noel and Karina Moran and Mairead and Colin Whelan. A great night is guaranteed with music by DJ Dave. €10 admission-pay on the door.

THREE ROCKS TRAIL RELAUNCH

Barntown Heritage Group has decided to officially relaunch the Three Rocks Trail on Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. This date will coincide with the 222-year anniversar­y of the famous 1798 Battle of Three Rocks.

The group also plans to hold the first official walk with guides across the upgraded 13.5km trail on Sunday, May 31.

Further details on these events will be published over the coming months, so we ask you to save the dates, as it promises to be a great weekend.

Congratula­tions to Maura Rossiter, who was the latest lucky winner of the Barntown split-thepot. Thank you to all for your continued support.

CONDOLENCE­S

Barntown bid farewell to one of it’s most senior citizens recently, when Mary Ann Murphy (more commonly known as Mrs Luke) was laid to rest in Barntown cemetery. Sympathy is extended to Mary Ann’s family and friends. May she rest in peace.
