TIDY TOWNS MEETING

Rosslare Tidy Towns are holding an open meeting at the parochial centre, Rosslare on Thursday, February 27, at 7 p.m. for a 7.15 start.

SEWING CLASS

Last year’s course was a huge hit and due to demand, and a beginners’ course is now being planned to start in mid-February. So if you own a sewing machine and don’t know how to use it, this might be the course for you. Learn how to operate and maintain your machine with confidence.

This course will cover upcycling techniques, pattern reading and projects suitable for beginners Attendees must bring own machines to class. Course costs €120 – €20 booking deposit required. For more informatio­n, call tutor Noeleen Ennis Hickey at 086 4057567.

CHARITY BOUTIQUE

New2U Charity Boutique is open from 10.00 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. Bargains galore to be found on our ladies clothing rails, complement­ed by a lovely range of accessorie­s including hats, bags and scarves.

We are always happy to receive donations of good quality clothing, small electrical items or household bric-à-brac.

GAA CLUB NEWS

The lotto was not won – jackpot €10,600. The numbers were 5, 13, 17 and 30 on February 11. One match-three winner Sophie Doyle. Next draw is next year February 18 in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. and is €10,750. Tickets are €2 and can be bought off all Managers,

players, committee and places around the parish.

Our Nursery will start on the February 29 at 10 a.m. on Saturdays for six weeks till April 4. All four- to six-year-old girls and boys are welcome to come along and have fun.

CAMOGIE NOTES

Camogie 2020 Training times: under-eights – Return date to be confirmed. Under-10s – Tuesdays at 6.45 p.m. under-12s – Fridays at 6 p.m. under-14s – Return date to be confirmed registrati­on for 2020 €50 up to under-18s €60 adults. Looking forward to another great season. ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Coffee mornings continue each week at 10, 30 a.m. in Coast Hotel. For those taking part in Chair Yoga please note the change of time – 9.45 a.m. for the next three weeks.

We look forward to our annual lunch in Kelly’s Hotel on Thursday, February 20, so far most of our members have put their names on the list, anyone else wishing to attend should give their name in next Tuesday.

A good crowd enjoyed the guided tour of Johnstown Castle on January 27 and the light lunch in the Castle Cafe beforehand. Our next outing will be to the musical Titanic in the National Opera House on April 27.

We have a solicitor booked for March 31 when she will talk to our members about wills and power of attorney etc which should be interestin­g.

The next members meeting will be held on March 10 when we will have a vote on change of venue for our weekly coffee mornings/meetings. We hope all members will attend and cast their vote on the preferred venue.

BIBLE STUDIES EVENING

A Bible studies evening will be held each Wednesday in the Fort Room, Rosslare Community Centre (7 p.m. to 8 p.m.). The evening will involve discussion in an informal and friendly setting. All are welcome; for more informatio­n contact Avril or Jenita at 086 6627681.

COIS BARRY COMMUNITY HOUSE

Cois Barry Community House has teamed up with Kelly’s Resort Hotel to introduce a free course in the Hospitalit­y Industry. The course will include Barista training, Table waiting and Bar-Tending.
