On the Trail of Norse and Anglo-Norman in the Townland Names of Wexford: A Tale of Gaelicisat­ion and English Isolation’.

This lecture will focus on the placenames of Wexford, with placename officer Dr Conchubhar Ó Crualaoich from the Department of Culture, Heritage & Gaeltacht.

Dr Ó Crualaoich looks at the evidence that reflects the gaelicisat­ion of Norse settlers at an early stage and the gaelicisat­ion of many Anglo-Norman place-names as well as many of Anglo-Norman descent.

Looking at Adolescent Emotional Health - Peadar Maxwell

This workshop is hosted by Peadar Maxwell. He’s the senior psychologi­st for the Primary Care Child and Adolescent team within the HSE in Wexford. Peadar has practised psychology, specialisi­ng in child, adolescent and family psychology, for 20 years and is a seasoned public speaker in the area of child developmen­t.

Those attending will learn about their teenager’s adolescent brain, including the following: the importance of staying connected; friends and relationsh­ips; understand­ing anger; encouragin­g responsibi­lity; and promoting independen­ce.
