BARNTOWN BADMINTON CLUB

Continued good luck to Barntown Badminton Club, who are currently taking part in the Co. Wexford Spring League. (Men’s and Mixed divisions 5 and 6) The lads are on top form having had success against Shelbourne, Clonard, Taghmon and Galbally. The lads fought hard and played well but were narrowly beaten by Monaseed last week in a tough, but exciting match. Thanks to all who turned out to support.

Well done also to Sinto John and Tigin Kolliyil, who participat­ed in the FZ Forza Grade G Men’s Doubles Irish Nationals 2019/2020 pre-quarters in Marino Institute, Dublin. The lads did us proud.

RACKARD LEAGUE

Well done to the boys Rackard League team who won their first game v Rathangan last Thursday. The Rackard League camogie team will play their first game away to Bannow on Thursday, March 12, at 2.30 p.m.

CONFIRMATI­ON

This year the Confirmati­on will take place in St Lawrence’s Church, Glynn on Saturday, March 21.

GAA CLUB NEWS

CLUB LOTTO – Numbers drawn on Wednesday, March 4, 8, 11, 26 and 28. No jackpot winner. One match-three winner – Barry Kirwan, Crandonnel­l. Next draw is on March 18 in Declan’s. The jackpot is now €3,600. Good luck to all.

DINNER AND FASHION SHOW – Glynn-Barntown present a dinner and Fashion Show on Thursday, March 12, at 7.30 p.m. in the Thomas Moore Tavern. SENIORS MOVEMENT/ EXERCISE CLASS.

Call out to Barntown Community Centre on Tuesday mornings and put a spring back in your step with Saoirse. A Fitness and Movement class – designed for seniors – takes place from 11 a.m. to midday. ART CLASSES

An eight-week Painting class is commencing on Saturday, March 14, in Barntown Community Centre. Classes are from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on Saturdays. €90 for eight classes or €15 per class. More details to follow or check out Barntown Community Centre’s Facebook page.

ALTAR SERVERS

The parents/guardians of any child – who would like to be an altar server – are invited to request a form for completion after any of the Masses at Barntown and Glynn. At present, we are blessed to have great servers who will happily assist in the induction and training of new members. Parishione­rs from third class upwards are invited to apply.
