BEREAVEMENT
The sympathy of the community is extended to Tommy and Pauline Davitt and family on the death of his father, Tommy, Crory, Ferns on Saturday, February 29. The deceased is mourned and will be sadly missed by his wife Cathy, and sons Tommy, John, Noel and Paul, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. He was buried in Ferns Cemetery on Tuesday, March 3, after Funeral Mass in St Aidan’s Church. Solas na bhFlaitheas dá anam dílis.
BINGO
Bob’s Charity Bingo for the camogie club begins on March 10 at 9 p.m. and will run for eight weeks.
GAA HEALTHY CLUB
Now that ‘Ireland Lights Up has finished we have a new challenge for people who wish to continue walking.
Oulart-The Ballagh GAA ‘Healthy Club Officer’ Breda Flood has registered the club to participate in the Irish Life GAA Healthy Club ‘Step Challenge’. As an incentive to participate, Irish Life are giving away 4x €2,500 vouchers, one per province, to the club with the highest total of average steps. The challenge starts on March 16 and ends on April 12. At least 15 adults are required but there is no upper limit. CAMOGIE EVENTS FOR MARCH
March is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month for Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club. ‘March Movement Hour’ kicks off on March 1, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the top pitch for all girls from under-sixes to under-12s.
This is a fundamental skills programme being run over four weeks (March 1, 8, 22nd and 29th) and will be facilitated by Dale Murphy – Butler.
It will be fun – filled and aims to prepare the girls for the season ahead.
COISTE NA NÓG EVENTS
Most of our under – age boys are back training and are making full use of the Astro Playing area at the top pitch. Our under-13 and under-15 boys are playing in the Cross-County Leinster Leagues and the under-17 boys have their first Championship Match on Sunday, March 15, against Askamore in Ballyrobuck at 11 a.m.
