COMMUNITY ALERT

We are appealing to everyone in our community to be on the lookout for their neighbours in these extraordinary times, and keep a special lookout for our senior citizens and those who may be living alone. A phone call to someone may give them a great lift of confidence to know that someone cares.

SCHOOL ENROLMENT

Scoil Iosagain Coolgreany is now open for Enrolments for the coming new School year starting in September. Enrolments forms are now available by calling to the local school as soon as possible.

ST PATRICK’S DAY

What a sight to behold at Midday on St Patrick’s Day, was to meet Ray Finn and his wife Norah playing the bag pipes with a lovely version of St Patrick’s Day and also our National Anthem as they marched the road near their home at Newtown, Coolgreany, It was a pity a few more people were not around to witness this to celebrate a different St Patrick’s Day.

CASTLETOWN LIAM MELLOWS GAA.

Hope everyone is safe and well in these very unusual and difficult times we find ourselves. Croke Park have informed all clubs that public liability and player insurance are suspended till March 29. Therefore we have no choice but to lock our gates, arena, clubhouse and gym. Please do not use club facilities till further notice.

So with this in mind, there will be no hurling or football for any age groups underage or adult, all yoga classes are postponed. The Tony Fenton Men’s Health Evening is cancelled and the GAA Healthy Club Step Challenge won’t start till April 20.

Look out for each other and please keep in mind any friends and neighbours who might need some support in the coming weeks Stay safe. We are all in this together.

GOLDEN CIRCLE

In the present circumstances our trip to See Mike Denver on March 26 has been postponed as per the Government guidelines, this trip has been rearranged for May 20 subject to the current restrictions being lifted,

Our tea dance on April 13 (Easter Monday) is currently planned to go ahead on the basis that the restrictions will end on March 29 Should the restrictions be extended then we will act accordingly and cancel as necessary.
