GAA WALKING TRACK

With all training, games and competitio­ns suspended till March 29, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic Monageer-Boolavogue GAA Club has received up to date informatio­n from the GAA regarding insurance. The club’s walking track remains open but all buildings, including he gym must remain closed.

The grounds, which had been closed initially last week, have been reopened under the following conditions:

No groups can use the walking track. Parents must ensure that their children are not loitering or playing in groups in the GAA grounds. All users are asked to adhere to HSE guidelines in regard to ‘social-distancing’ and personal hygene. No pets, except for working guide or therapy dogs, are allowed in the grounds.

Monageer-Boolavogue GAA committee will keep the situation regarding the uses of the walking track and grounds under constant review.

PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

The children had a great morning at the parent and toddler group’s last meeting on Wednesday, March 11, producing some ‘St Patrick’ themed artwork and using lots of green paint. In line with government directives, the group will not meet again till after March 29 at the very earliest.

SOCCER NEWS

All soccer matches have been cancelled by the FAI till March 29 due to the Covid-19 virus ourbreak.

This decision superseeds the advice given earlier about players not shaking hands with opponents or match officials.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD AND EUCHARIST.

At the time of going to press, Masses are still being celebrated as usual in St Cormac’s church, unlike the larger urban centres in the county, where all Masses are now celebrated in private and broadcast on the internet.

On Saturday, March 28, Rosaleen Gahan is due to read at the 8 p.m. Vigil Mass in St Cormac’s with James Breen reading at the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday morining. Minister of the Eucharist at the Saturday Vigil Mass will be Noeleen Hennessy with Monica Gahan helping distribute Holy Communion at the Sunday morning Mass.
