ONLINE YOGA CLASSES WILL HELP COMBAT STRESS DURING COVID LOCKDOWN

-

maintaining a positive outlook and ensuring you don’t succumb to the stress and anxiety being caused by the lockdown is not easy right now.

To help counter this, Suzanne Corrigan has created Exhale Yoga Wexford, an online community where people can come together and practice yoga safely in the comfort of their own homes via Zoom.

And rather than profit from these uncertain times, Suzanne is donating all funds raised from the classes to Pieta House in Wexford town.

‘Yoga can increase oxytocin, cultivating happiness, health and feelings of calmness,’ says Suzanne who having found herself out of work afer her salon, Ekko Health and Beauty, was forced to temporarily close due to the coronavirus, is using the time to continue teaching yoga.

Exhale Yoga is running four online classes per week. The classes are suitable for total beginners and all levels and run from Monday to Thursday each week. Classes include pregnancy yoga, hatha yoga, gentle yoga and relaxation, and yin yoga.

‘I decided to put together something accessible for all in the hope to reduce stresses, improve physical fitness and to raise funds for a fantastic service in Pieta. A service very much in need right now in such strenuous times,’ said Sue.

Once the classes are over, students can choose to have the recording sent via email, for them to practice throughout the week, or if they were unable to make the live zoom class.

All classes revolve around breath awareness and being present, or what many would describe as mindful yoga. Sue does not charge a fee for the classes but asks for those who attend to make a voluntary donation, which she will donate in the form of a cheque to the Wexford branch of Pieta House, so far over €500 euro has been raised.
