LOCKDOWN YARN BOMBING PROJECT

To celebrating Bealtaine during the Lockdown Kilrane/Rosslare Harbour ICA guild members decided to do a yarn bombing project which is the practice of adding knitted works of art to public places. ‘Bealtaine’ is a May Day festival celebrating the arts & creativity as we age.

What a great response we have had from knitters & grandchildren. This has resulted in a lovely display of knitted art in Kilrane & Rosslare Harbour. What talented people we have in the area. The displays will continue until the end of May. Anyone knitting can still add to the project.

We would like to use this display to applaud the work of all the frontline services and essential workers, to thank them and to show our solidarity with all who are affected by Covid19. A big thank you to all those who took part.
