Our Access for All Garden remains a permanent attraction and is an ideal spot to meet up with a friend; settle on a bench with a coffee and admire the handiwork of our green-fingered volunteers. All donations towards the upkeep of the grounds are very welcome; a donation point is located in the garden. And while you’re there, why not call in to New2U charity shop, with its ever-changing range of seasonal bargains.

We continue to offer reduced annual membership fees for 2020; our very popular family membership can now be purchased for a very reasonable €60; membership offers the whole family unlimited use of the tennis courts, crazy golf, bowling, running track and playground (subject to availability). Tennis and Bowling memberships are also available at significantly reduced rates; call us on 9132202 for more information.

ST MARY’S GAA

We are back in our fields and training again. Anybody wanting to come back must go to https:// learning.gaa.ie/covid19 to find out all the information they need and to go onto the online course which needs to be done by all parents/guardians/players etc. At the end of it you need to print the cert to give to our Covid supervisor on the 1st night of training. Everybody will have to fill out a health app on the GAA app before the 1st training.

As with all aspect of Life the GAA needs to adapt to live with the virus. We will try to keep all informed as things are changing day to day.

Our Lotto finally started back on Tuesday June 30 . There was no jackpot winner for €11,350. There was one match 3 winner Tony Kehoe. The numbers were 5, 7, 23 and 27. Next week jackpot will be €11,500 on July 7 .

Hopefully you will have received a letter in your post about our future plans for the club. With this letter is a standing order form to buy a lotto ticket for the year. With the Virus it is very hard to sell tickets and we are hoping as many people as possible would sign up for the lotto. So far your response has being god and we appreciate your support.

This helps us run our club and our hope to put in a walking track this year for all the community to use. Anybody wishing to fill in let us know Conor Roche 087-2027202 or Niall Mc Donald on 087-2672108. You can buy tickets off all adult players/ Coaches/Committee members and in various outlets in the parish. Your support wold be much appreciate.

HISTORY OF ST MARYS GAA CLUB - A book recording the history of St Marys Club Rosslare, is being currently compiled. We are grateful to those of you who have contacted us to-date with your contributions. So far we have over 30 contributors, but wed still very much like to hear from anyone who may have information, stories or pictures relevant to the life of the Club from 1886 to modern times. ACTIVE RETIRED

We hope all our members and their families have remained well and continue to avoid the dreaded virus. In an effort to get back to normal we have decided to hold our first coffee morning on Tuesday July 14 at 10.30am in Coast Hotel. The staff have kindly offered us the use of the function room where we will have adequate space for socially distancing. We hope to have weekly coffee morning for July and August, as long as conditions allow.

Our first meeting will be held in September. Unfortunately our outings to Russborough and Kilmainham have been cancelled and no decision is made yet on the trip to Westport on August 31, we do hope this will go ahead as planned but it seems a final decision will be made in a few week’s time, until then we will just hope for the best. As holidays abroad are not recommended this year it would be a very welcome break for those wishing to travel. Stay safe everyone and we hope to see a good number on 14th for a chat.
