Philip was a true warrior with an indomitable spirit
It is with great sadness that Philip Siggins (60) passed away on Wednesday, December 23 2020.
Philip was born on December 27, 1960 to Martin and Marie Siggins from Devereux Villas, Wexford town, and attended and completed his studies in the CBS school.
He started his martial art training at an early age and went on to become a master in taekwondo. Philip also represented Ireland on the international stage and gained his fourth degree black belt. He ran his own school, Wexford Taekwondo Club, and gave lessons in venues around the county, winning many awards and achievements along the way.
Philip was a man of many talents and managed the gym in George’s Street for the late Dominic Kiernan, where he taught strength and conditioning classes. Well known for his great sportsmanship he also trained and taught in different boxing clubs around Wexford.
Philip had a great spirit for adventure and loved travelling around the world. He was a loving husband and met his wife Quineta in South Africa, he was also a devoted father to his son Oisin and daughter Sinead.
He completed his professional qualification in Laser and Physical Pain Therapy and owned the successful Wexford Pain Therapy Clinic in Thomas Street, where he quickly gained popularity and recognition for providing chronic pain relief treatments.
His passion for perfection and dedication to his patients led to him receiving the ‘What Clinic’ 2019 Patient Service award in recognition of excellence in patient experience.
He was a true warrior who showed courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and an indomitable spirit, all tenets of the Taekwondo creed. His brilliant wit, sharp mind, wonderful smile will not be forgotten.
Philip is survived by his beloved wife Quineta, son Oisin and daughter Sinead. His brothers Jack and Marty and sisters Liz, Margaret, Sinead, Esther and Mari and his Aunt Breda.
A special celebration of life service took place on December 26, where Philip’s family and friends bid farewell to a great man.
