ON the FAIRWAYS
ROSSLARE LADIES
Happy new year, ladies... wishing you all a peaceful and safe 2021!
Unfortunately, at this time due to the Government safety guidelines, our golf course and clubhouse are closed for the month of January.
We look forward to re-opening in February - when we will hopefully be playing 14-hole competitions.
Our golf course has benefited from the rest and is in pristine condition. We thank our head greenkeeper Iain Wakeman and staff for their continued hard work and expertise, and wish the entire team a very happy new year.
Just a reminder, that when we return to play, ‘winter golf’ will still be the order of the day, with our -1 reductions for singles and fourball competitions continuing on until our 18-hole competitions resume in March.
A big ‘thank you’ to our card checkers and ladies on the competitions committee, namely Frances Kavanagh, Catherine Haugh and Liz Callery, who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes over the festive season organising non-stop competitions and compiling results. Thank you, ladies!
Also, well done to all recent prize-winners.
As you know, our joint club AGM is fast approaching - a virtual Zoom meeting on Friday, January 29, at 7 p.m., and we ask you all to log-in online and attend this meeting - a first for Rosslare Golf Club - when the new management committee will be voted on and formed.
There are eight portfolios on this new committee and if interested in being involved in the governance of our club, please contact Honorary Secretary Carol O’Brien, any lady on the ladies’ committee, or text 087-9283090 - thank you!
You will be sent a link/invitation online, and simply click/ press to join/attend the virtual meeting.
Wishing you all a safe lockdown - and we look forward to meeting up again on the fairways when it is safe to do so.
