Parcels of land disposed of

FIVE parcels of lands were disposed of by members of Wicklow County Council on Monday.

A patch of 350 square meters at Castle Avenue, Wicklow was disposed of by transfer order to William and Phyllis Kavanagh of Castle Street, Wicklow. This was proposed by Cllr Gail Dunne and seconded by Cllr Shay Cullen.

The disposal of a freehold interest of land at 11 Connolly Street, Arklow by way of leasehold transfer order to James Green, 11 Connolly Street Arklow was proposed by Cllr Pat Fitzgerald. Cllr John Snell proposed the disposal of a freehold interest of land at Ballylusk, Askford by way of a leasehold transfer order to James Walker of Ballylusk.

Cllr Christophe­r Fox proposed the disposal of land at 9 Rockfield Park, Kilmacanog­ue to Seamus Brady of that address while Cllr Gerry Walsh proposed the disposal of 0.13635 hectares of land to Greystones Harbour Property Designated Activity Company.

All five disposals were unanimous. Cllr Jennifer Whitmore told the members that a small group of members is looking at the practises surroundin­g land disposals and said that the members wanted to ensure that whey they were presented with disposals they had the relevant details including the rationale behind the disposal, the history of the site and all the legal paperwork pertaining to the site.

Senior executive officer Lorraine Gallagher said the informatio­n is circulated to the members prior to the matter coming before the council.
