Junior football: Our junior team were home to Avoca last Thursday evening in the league and despite missing a few key players this is a game we should of won. Tinahely controlled this match for 50 minutes. A few mistakes gave away silly scores to Avoca to allow them win this match by a single point.

Team on the night was William Lillis, Ronan Hedderman, Larry Keating, Danny Quinn, Tony Lacey, Gavin Kenny, Stewart Gilbert, Niall Byrne and Brian Hickey, Enda o Keefe, Patrick Dixon, Thomas Dalton, Adam Cullen, Pauric Murphy, Sean Pollard.Next week we are at home to Coolkenno at 7:30pm.

Senior football: Our senior team were at home Bray Emmets last Sunday morning in the Division 1 league. The weather was warm and dry and the pitch was in fantastic condition. Tinahely took the 1st score before Bray equalised. We went 3 points to 1 up before Bray got a goal against the run of play. Our lads responded fast and kicked over a few scores to lead by 3 at half-time. Second half performance was strong and our lads won this match on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-19. Two huge points on the league table. Next Sunday we play Rathnew at home at 12pm. Team on the day was Niall, James, Barney, Ray, John, Bandy, Conor, Shooter, Crouch, Paddy, Stevie, Alan, Gavin, Pauric and the veteran Tony Darcy. Training is Friday night at 8pm for all players. U8 boys football is on every Tuesday evening at 6pm in the Tinahely GAA pitch. All boys are welcome to attend.
