NEWTOWN JUNIORS

-

Football matters are scarce at the moment but for some the show must go on. Our ladies team’s results have been a little bit up and down and this was the case last Wednesday evening when we hosted Shelbourne’s ‘B’ team in the Premier Cup quarter-final.

Despite our best efforts absentees due to holidays, injuries and work didn’t help and we exited the competition. On the night despite the result our defence of Ann Marie, Chelsee, Kellie and Emily played well and new girls who after a few games will lose the rustiness i.e. Jess, Nicola and Katie tried hard.

The games keep coming thick and fast and by the time you read this we will know if we will take our place in the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland Shield at home to Bonagee United from County Donegal. Here’s hoping! Upcoming Fixtures: Ladies team at home to Peamount Utd ko Thursday, 21st July at 7.15pm (Prov); Ladies team at away to TEK Utd ko Monday 25th July at 7.15pm. (FIXTURES and KO TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE).

We have only the one player from the club celebrating a birthday in the coming week and he is Ciaran Mangan from the Under-15’s. Happy birthday to Ciaran from everyone at Newtown Juniors F.C.

We will be letting you all know when we will be registering for all our teams for the 2016/2017 season in due course. Our Under-15 team (players born 2002/2003) will start pre season on Saturday, 23rd July from 10.30am and new players are very welcome.
