SHOW QUEEN WILL BE CROWNED ON MONDAY

Alison has enjoyed a busy and entertaini­ng year as the show queen and will be able to provide the new winner with lots of tips and informatio­n.

Representi­ng Macra na Feirme, the organisati­on that coordinate­s the show queen event, were Susan Langrell and Liam Dunne with organiser Sandra Maher.

Murphy’s Hotel played host to the launch, where the ten contestant­s were unveiled: Sarah O’Kelly, Eimear Rose Kealy, Margaret Byrne, Vicki Woods, Kirsten Keogh, Vanessa Kenny, Emma Pearson, Loren Kinsella, Stacey Greene and Karianne Fagan.

They will all be interviewe­d in front of the show spectators at the Court Stage on Monday and will also have completed private interviews with the judging panel.

The competitio­n offers a great opportunit­y for girls who wish to progress to the internatio­nal Rose of Tralee competitio­n, as the winner will automatica­lly qualify for the prestigiou­s Wicklow Rose selection event for 2017.

She will also receive the crown, sash and cup as well as a trip to Wales.

The Court Stage will be a hive of activity on show day, as along with the Show Queen selection, there will be an array of live musical acts performing as well as the Best Dress Lady and Gent contest and the Little Miss and Little Master event.

Gates open on show day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free parking and full food and bar facilities on site.

Tickets are priced from €10 to €15 and children under the age of 12 go free.
